MonarC 05-06-2004, 04:55 PM AMY LEE FROM EVANESCENCE, WAS ONCE A MARIAH FAN 5/6/2004
If you ever wondered if Mariah ever reached a broad audience, then the following will answer your question, even though the released peformance of "Fantasy: Mariah Carey at Madison Square Garden" is answer enough:
On the new latin edition of Rolling Stone there`s an interview with Amy and here`s the Mariah mention:
Q: What posters you had up in your room when you were a kid?
A: I had Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul posters. But later I took
them all off and put Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Janis Joplin and Nirvana..I discovered grunge"

AllIWantIsYourClutch 05-07-2004, 08:04 PM Yes, that means one day she woke up, looked around her room, and decided to listen to good music.
I read that article. It's not a big deal.

you silly son of a bitch, didn't you know, if it involves or mentions the washed up Mariah it's a BIG deal and deserves it's own post with more whoring outness. She was once a Paula A. fan as well..like how that was failed to be mentioned in the title.

Biggest news headline of the year. i like goldfish, might as well call cnn about it.
Now everyones probably gonna say "ew poser!" because apparently no one is allowed to like more than one genre, judging by the fact that everyone who does is called a poser. **** you all who think that.

I agree, I HATE that consensus.
I actually remember cringing a few years ago when I peeped over to an MTV board, and people were riding this one girl because she happened to be a fan of both Orgy and Shania Twain. I mean, neither artist is among my favorite, but I will also admit that I happened to enjoy songs from both artists. Shouldn't people EMBRACE someone's ability to enjoy more than one style of music instead of calling them a "poser".
I hated it on another music board, where even tho I have said 100's of times that I still like a lot of r&b even tho I dislike rap, but people kept going on over and over again saying I "have no right to like" someone like Mary J. Blige because I dislike Jennifer Lopez. Much like the Culture Club song "war war is stupid AND PEOPLE ARE STUPID " lol

Im not typical. :nonono:
did you really expect me to call this thread...
Amy Lee from Evanescene, a Mariah fan and Paula Abdul fan too....
Ok but that just seemed too long in my opinion.
and I put the name Mariah for those who like Mariah and want to read it. Not for the haters to come in here and bum the thread out. But you all do it anyway don't ya. To each his own. peace:

People like that make me want to stab myself in the head. I remember a while ago someone was giving christina aguilera **** and calling her a punk wannabe because she was wearing a clash shirt. may she be damned to hell for liking a band! what a total poser! On a related note, i also hate it so much when people call other people posers just because they label themselves punk. No one ever gets crap for labeling themselves preps or hicks or whatever... it's only punk. stupid. if they have what defines punk, i would just love to know how that makes them a poser.

the thing I find funniest is that a lot of these "I'm punker than you" people (the ones who point the finger and calls everyone else a poseur) hate it when you turn it back around on them that they used to be into N'Sync or New Kids On The Block.
