What ever happened with her in that murder case. I missed a couple of episodes.

Well she got in a crate and tricked Niles into taking her house-arrest-alarm with him.

Niles gets caught by the police, but is released.

Then the episode ends with Martin, Frasier and Niles around the table drinking some wine, as Niles reads the note, which ends --
"Word up to all my hommies in cell block D, stay black -- Love Maris"

And then they give a toast and say "To Maris", and the episode ends.

Well, she was found guilty and thats why she fled the country (for Bora Bora, I think)

But I think she says in the letter that she knows she didnt do it purposely and that she would never survive in jail, so thats why she fled the coup.

You know whom I always envisioned Maris to look like? The woman depicted in John Singer Sargent's painting Madame X!

Yes! That hair, that face, that skin. But even skinnier, chestless and wearing one of Diane Chamber's high-collar silk blouses.
That's pretty darn close to Mel.

oh - did you all hear that joke David Hyde-Pierce made about a possible "Frasier" spinoff? He said Maris may get her own spinoff - only you may not be able to see it. cute.

How about Maris moving in with Vera Peterson in a spinoff? Edie McClurg can play their nosy neighbor, and she would be the show's only cast member!

I thought that was incredibly amusing, and went around telling everyone who (with the exception of my Geometry teacher *shrugs*) responded with the, only to be expected, "Huh?"
