View Full Version : The a very sad day is here bschmale1113 05-05-2004, 11:59 PM No More New Friends after tonight the five friends are leving us that the sad part but good part is Joey is staying let us Dean Winchester 05-06-2004, 12:23 AM I know!!! I don't remember ever being this upset about a show ending Now I probably was sadder that Buffy and Sex And The City (both ended in the past 12 months) ended when they did since I thought both should've gone on longer, whereas I do agree it's time for Friends to go.... but still, it's been part of our collective consciousness for so long that it ending is not just the ending of a tv series, but it's the end of an era. AKA 05-06-2004, 01:08 AM Although I haven't watched the show since 2002 (I thought the show jumped the shark), I used to be a huge fan. I can't say I'm not going to miss it. Goodbye, Friends. Dean Winchester 05-06-2004, 02:05 AM Originally posted by AKA Although I haven't watched the show since 2002 (I thought the show jumped the shark) I do have to agree about jumping the shark, although I'd have to say that it technically began with season 7. The first 6 seasons (even tho I think season 3 was the weakest of that lot) are all golden and each season has a ton of classic episodes. Season 7 was when the show started becoming more "comfort food" as opposed to great television. I won't lie and say that seasons 7-10 didn't have some great moments, but all in all, if the show jumped the shark, I'd say it was with the beginning of season 7. I almost wonder what it would've been like had the series ended at the end of season 6, it would've went out on top (not saying it isn't now... but I don't think fans of the show would've ever complained about how it's "not as good as it used to be", etc..) barwars 05-06-2004, 01:56 PM Ive said before that Im not in the least bit a fan of Friends.... maybe its just all the hype.... but I think Ive become a closet fan of Friends. I dont know when, and I dont know why -- but I went from intense hatred to actually liking the show. Maybe its good, or maybe its bad -- but Ill be watching tonight. But I cant become TOO big of a fan -- the DVDs will make me broke. BotchieB 05-07-2004, 07:36 PM Although I'm sure many would agree that it was time that Friends come to an end, and many who hate to see it go(or both). I'm a little curious about which of the Friends wanted and didn't want to keep the show going. I seen an interview with Matt and he was saying how he was one of the ones who was pushing to keep the show going. musicradio77 05-07-2004, 08:22 PM I saw it last night that the show was over at 9:59 PM because the show was almost over at about 4 or 5 minutes. I missed the last part where they kissed until it stopped on my DVR. I hope the DVD will come out this Tuesday according to an article in the New York Post.:D |
