Video Store Magazine's Erik Gruenwedel posted this story yesterday about the possibility of a DVD release for the final episode of Frasier:

Paramount Home Entertainment is considering releasing a bonus-laden DVD of the "Frasier" two-hour season finale, which airs on NBC May 13, according to sources familiar with the program.

In addition to the final episode, information on the extent of the bonus material included in the special edition DVD besides requisite cast and crew interviews was not available.

The DVD release date will not imitate the...finale of "Friends," which Warner Home Video is releasing five days later (May 11)...according to sources.

A Paramount spokesperson declined comment.

We here at TVShowsOnDVD have heard talk about some sort of "Season 11-releated" DVD release since mid-March. We haven't posted much about it because Paramount assured us at the time that this was just talk, and they had nothing concrete to say on the matter.

With an industry periodical now reporting that insiders with the show are verifying that this is more than "just talk", it looks like we can expect something to happen with a Frasier "Series Finale" DVD release sometime between the May 25th Season 3 release and the eventual release of Season 4 (still not on the schedule yet).

We'll be watching from our perch up on the Space Needle for further developments on this, so stay tuned...






Finale DVD (or "The Complete Eleventh Season").... possible spinoff.... best day for Frasier ever!!

I doubt they'll release the entire eleventh season before the other seven they have left. I don't doubt a stand-alone finale DVD like the article states, though.

Either way -- Ill buy it.
I said Id never buy a "best of" type TVDVD -- but this is possibly the ONLY exception.

Screw the new fall schedules.... this is what I'll be watching.

um...you know, I liked the last season and all, but I'd MUCH rather have the complete seasons 4-10 first. If I had to pick and choose, just 4-7. But still, why in the hell are they doing this?? Just release em in order!
