View Full Version : Favorite sight gag
mooseface 05-04-2004, 04:19 PM Mine is when Fred places the second ad in the newspaper for the escort service. (the first ad having the picture of Lamont).
That pic with Fred's head on the muscle man's body is priceless.
LOL!
glenny 05-05-2004, 06:26 AM I also like the one where Fred acquires the elephant that he wants to use as a walking billboard. I loved when he unwrapped the message "Paradise Massage Parlor" on the elephants back.
bathtubbum 05-05-2004, 08:42 AM I have 2 fav site gags i can think of offhand:
the first one was in "tooth or consequences" where fred was wearing the cloth around his head, he looked like a rabbit.
The 2nd was the one where he bought that atrocious suit from "Phils fashion box" with the orange pants, ugly suit even by 70s standards!!!!
I just thought of a 3rd, the wheel and deal episode with fred, grady, and bubba in those costumes, grady in a dress and wig, priceless!!!
:p sylvia
mooseface 05-05-2004, 09:20 AM Another great one is when Fred takes his robe off just before he hops in the ring to fight Junior. The yellow trunks with the white underwear was great.
You can see Demond Wilson cracking up.
glenny 05-05-2004, 11:59 AM Another one that had me laughing hard was when Fred and Lamont were throwing a party to help play their bills. Fred dressed up in a tuxedo. The real funny part was when he took the coat of of his "bunny" for the party. She was rather large to say the least!!
AtlantaBravesFan29 05-05-2004, 12:46 PM Another sight gag is where they found the suitcase of money and Lamont bets Fred $5 that if you found money that you had to turn it into the police and Lamont calls the police station and finds out that you do have to turn it in and then Lamont tells Fred to pay up and Fred opens the suitcase and says, "Got change for a $20???
Also when Lamont opens the door and sees the robber with a gun and Fred asks who is it,Fred says,"Great Day In The Morning"
mooseface 05-05-2004, 04:14 PM Lamont: What is *that*?
Fred: What does it look like, a water buffalo??
AtlantaBravesFan29 05-05-2004, 05:57 PM Here's another sight gag:
When Fred and Hutch go to the TV studio and try to unload the Whopper Choppers, they go out into the audience and Fred stumbles into the woman and she says,"Will you, please!!" Then Fred says,"Not for all of the money in the world."
And then when the Cavorting Coneseiuer(sp) comes out and asks for someone in the audience, the woman starts saying,"I will." Then Fred says,"No, you won't." The woman keeps saying,I will and Fred says,"You need to go on a diet."
And then the two quotes that are really funny:
Fred to Hutch: Hey,Hutch,I got me a dead duck.
Fred to Cavorting: Good friends,good meat,I'm a Baptist,let's eat."

I liked it when Bubba came to the party drunk and that morning he was calling her, "Here, bunny, bunny, bunny"
I forget the episode name but, the one where they think they struck oil. Fred comes downstairs wearing bathtowels and picnic table style tableclothes around his head. Fred thought he was from Egypt.

That was the episode,"California Crude",and he was dressing like an Egyptian because everyone dressed that way,and Lamont reminded him that they didn't dress that way anymore. And then when the guy from the oil company came,he was dressed in Egyptian clothes and Fred teased him and pulled his beard and then the guy said that was his real beard, and Fred said that it was the greeting of the tugging of the beard and the guy tugged at Fred's beard:lol:
BTW: Ross Martin, from the TV show Wild Wild West, played the Egyptian from the oil company. I didn't even recognize him.
"California Crude" , yeah thats the name. Funny episode. Another good one was (again, forget the name of the episode) where Fred built that tower of junk, and I think Esther walked up, and here comes Fred down the stairs all dressed up like some French artist. Bottle of wine, loaf of french bread hanging out the side, and wearing a berret (sp?). Seems like Fred always knows how to dress for the occasion.
glenny 05-06-2004, 07:16 AM Fred does know how to dress for every occasion. I loved that ringmasters outfit he had on (huge pot belly and all) when he was putting on his circus.

Yeah,"Tower Power" was hilarious, especially the first part where Lamont nearly knocks over the statue and Fred gets into the argument with one of the lookers(who is actually the guy who played the guy with the piano in the episode "The Piano Movers") as the guy tells him,"Be quiet, I'm trying to absorb this lecture." And Fred said,"How would you like to absorb this??(clinches fist).
The part where Fred comes down the stairwell is when Lamont and Grady come out and sees the statue.
Also, when Fred charges admission,Esther calls Fred a heathern and for the first time in his life that you bow to something, you bow to a pagan idol. When Esther asks Fred what was the name of this junk, Fred says, "I call it...Esther"
Also the part where Lamont asks Fred for $25 because he parked the truck in a tow away zone because of the statue.
Lamont: Do you have $25??
Fred: Do mice bark??
Esther: I can loan you $25
Lamont: Thanks,Aunt Esther
Esther: I was going to save up and buy me a spring outfit.
Fred: Esther, you don't need a spring outfit, just cover yourself with a mattress pad and be done with it.
Lets not forget Freds famous walk. Alright here we go, the most ridiculous outfit that I can remeber Fred wearing is in the episode where Fred turns his junk yard into a church to get a tax break. Anyway, sunday morning comes around, theres about 10 or so people in the living room and out walks Fred in this religious outfit. He had on some multi color hat with a hubcap around his neck that he used for a collection basket. Funny stuff. That must be season 5, because i dont remember seeing it in seasons 1-4.

This was a 6th season episode. I liked it when one of the ladies fainted.
Tyler77 05-09-2004, 05:05 PM My fave is the one where Donna and Lamont get a hypnotist to hypnotize Fred into stop watching TV by making him feel hot every time he thinks about TV...well anyway, the plan backfires where Fred was pouring water all over himself while in his long underwear and when he gets up, he was literally sopping all over the place and Lamont and Donna are doing their best not to crack up.
Also the one where Fred's boarder Louella had the baby in the hospital, the nurse teaches Fred to change a baby diaper by using a doll and Fred was throwing baby powder everywhere, putting the doll on its head, ripping up the diaper, etc....!!

Man in waiting room: Man, you sure are nervous. Is this your first?
Fred: No - I've been smokin' for years!
catlover79 09-05-2007, 04:02 PM The goofy tie Lamont wore in the TV commerical (The Merger). When he swaggered in wearing that silly tie, I just lost it!!
catlover79 12-08-2008, 09:42 PM Fred's spit take in the Mexican restaurant ("Pops N Pals") cracks me up every time!!
Cloud9 Lorraine 12-08-2008, 11:34 PM Man in waiting room: Man, you sure are nervous. Is this your first?
Fred: No - I've been smokin' for years!
And in that same ep when Fritzi Burr (nurse) is showing Fred how to diaper a baby. She says, "Now you try it". Fred says to her, "Hop up on the table".
Hilarious! :rotflmao:
catlover79 12-08-2008, 11:46 PM How about every time Fred sees Chico, the killer goat? "Elizabeth, I'm coming to join you, honey - with a Puerto Rican goat!!"
rollo's girl 03-06-2011, 08:27 PM my favorite sight gag is in "A Date With Lena Horne", where Fred lets everyone think he's dying so he can go out with "Stormy Weather." He comes swaggering down the stairs in that tuxedo, with the cumberbund up over his potbelly, and that mac-daddy hairdo and all the other cast members just fall apart cracking up.
Lamont: Pop, where did you get that wig?
Fred: (mad) This ain't no wig! It's my own hair. I just teased it a little.
Rollo: Yeah! Teased it, squeezed it and diseased it!!!!:bouncers
Had to be one of the funniest scenes from the whole show.
east215 11-30-2011, 02:47 PM I always liked the scene in "My Fair Esther" (when Esther enters the beauty contest) where the heavy set woman comes out in a tutu dancing ballet.
s&sfan4life 11-11-2014, 02:04 AM I liked the episode when Fred and his friends threw a party after their friend's funeral and invited Fast Fanny and her girlfriends. Fred came down in that long coat that looked like a quilt. Bubba called it a Superman outfit anf Fred responded: Superfly, Bubba! Superfly!
