I am sad that Mr. Ed is going to leave TVLand. I am going to send them a letter.
Mr. Ed is my hero. I think he should be elected as the next President.
In fact, I am going to go looking for a Mr. Ed for President website.
There has got to be one on the internet somewhere.
I love Mr. Ed.

Yup....
You beat me to it.... though as I posted elsewhere here my suspicion when it went off day time and moved from 3am to the 3:30am DEATH slot that all 1/2 hour TV Land shows seem to pass into the great beyond through. ;) (the orig Bob Newhart was the last I noticed)
Just glad it lasted long enough I think I got to see the few 1st/2nd season shows I missed the last run through.
Of the 143 I think there are about 24 I have decided to keep.... the last 12 or so on DVD-R.

Hello Hayward!
You are so fortunate that you have Mr. Ed on DVD. I do not.
I would love to get a Mr. Ed for President screensaver or sticker for my website. And I would love to have a t-shirt with the same theme.
Do you know where I could get that stuff? Does it exist?

Yeah got a real time DVD recorder last month and still had many Ed's on my DVR I hadn't dubbed off to tape and erased yet... so about half the collection is on DVD the rest S-VHS from DVR... almost as good.

Ever heard of Photoshop (and the like) with a little DIY ?
Doubt you'd get sued unless you actively marketed it ;)

Not that a letter would hurt anything but this was round two on TVLAND so I am sure it will be back again.... and expressing interest will help insure that... just don't expect it right back... and a lot of us are looking forward to the Adams Family coming back... time has to come from somewhere, and only so many hours in a day. ;)
You can't expect it to be on daily FOREVER.... even the ONLY one that more or less has been for 50+ years.... I Love Lucy is off TVLAND too for the time being.
I am sure both will be back. (In the case of ED I don't know of anyone else but MTV/NICK network wise that has run it since its original run)... so probably not a lot of competitors.... yet clearly popular.... it will certainly be back after another year or two rest.... just when we are all really missing it again and will watch regularly again ;) Especially those of us that have not saved EVERY episode.
(After all TV IS a business that needs eyeballs to hopefully see at least some ads on a regular basis)

I haven't watched Mister Ed all that long probably around the time they were showing the marathon...When that was on i had decided to start taping every episode,so i was very disappointed when Tv Land didn't even give us a warning that Mister Ed was being taken off the air..I would of thought that they would of least ran him through the end of the month or give us one day full of episodes..My whole family watches it including my young children and even my in laws started watching it.I can only hope that they will bring Mister Ed back on..I would love to be able to get some more of his epsiodes taped..We have wrote letters and called..Maybe if everyone did that and showed alot of interest in Mister Ed maybe they could bring him back sooner..I don't care for half the shows they are showing now and haven't watched Tv land since they took Mister Ed off...BRING BACK MISTER ED!!!!!!!

A lot has to do with their contract with the producers.
Normally in TV syndication they are done for a maximum number of runs of each episode over X period of time. (In this case I would say that was 1 year) And they did at least 2 or 3 complete runs through the series. Watching/recording the single 3am episode (and missing the first month or two) it took me pretty much the complete year to see all of them (with some repeats). Which was sort of odd since they were double running them in the afternoon.... I was seeing every other episode at 3am so I saw the cast transition twice without seing repeats.
:)
Personally, my guess would be it will be at least a year before it is back on again.
I am looking forward to the return of the Adams Family in a few weeks myself, and the time for new things has to come from somewhere.
As to the mix... I don't think I have ever watched more than one show on TVLAND regularly at any given time.... but hey there are lots of tastes in the world.
Before Mr Ed it was the original Bob Newhart show which ended about the time Ed began last year.
(and in the wee hours the same time slot 3am though with a couple months of something else in between so I didn't realize ED was on right away)
When ED moved from 3am to 3:30 am (ET) I KNEW it was going off as that is exactly what happened with Newhart. If your favorite half hour ever starts running at 3:30am its is soon to disappear ;)
PS that move was when about when it stopped running 5-6pm too.... so if you had examined the schedule fully you might have caught a few more episodes. :( (about a month or so as I recall ....all of the first season and a few of the second)

I like Mr Ed. Nice tv guide cover Janice. I see you are Bush Cheney liker and from Massachusetts. I wish you luck in that state now that Kerry and Edwards are pushing forward.
