I actually have the original game. I got it off of eBay for $5 dollars last summer. At that price, I just had to have it...It actually came with the original 1972 Instructions! Anyway, the game is played with 1-4 players who each receive a spinner, which the game's instructions refer to as the "Dingbat Counter". There is a deck of cards & each player gets seven. The cards are worth a certain value and are color-coded, so that certain cards "trump" other ones. When you trump everybody else's card, you win the hand. Before the game, you set your counter to how many hands you think you will win and if you are correct you get 10 points; first to 100 wins. The game actually is quite fun. And the instructions have comedy references to the AITF TV show. As I remember correctly, It says (Archie talking) "Hey, here's my new game. Everybody plays it. Gloria, the Dingbat, and the Meathead, but he don't count to good so we gotta help him out. Play my game. Its the American thing to do..."

Lol, sounds pretty entertaining.

I've got a 1972 All in the Family game, but it's not the one with the cards...it came in a smaller blue box with a cast photo on the cover. Here's a link that describes the game:
