Just for everyone's information, this is the final box
score of the big game at the end of The Bad News Bears
in Breaking Training.
Inning-----------1 2 3 4 - R
===================
Houston Toros-- 2 3 0 0 - 5
California Bears 0 0 2 4 - 6
More notes from the game:
1. It was difficult to record the number of hits, but
I counted 5 for the Toros and 7 for the Bears.
2. The game was interrupted at the top of the 3rd
inning with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd when
the authorities stated that the second game of the
Astros' double header must begin. It was not revealed
who the Astros' opponents were that day. At first, it
was decleared a 5-0 win for the Toros but after
relentless chanting of "LET THEM PLAY!" that the game
was allowed to continue.
3. The winning hit was made by #11 Carmen Ronzonni
with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of
the 4th, on a 1-0 count.
4. Although the Bears actually lost to the Yankees in
the first movie, it was not revealed why the Bears
were considered the champions from California.
5. The "Let Them Play!" chant was compared to what
happened in the 2002 All-Star game when the came was
called and declared a 7-7 tie after 11 innings.
