View Full Version : Attention fans: We need to boycott the next two "new" eppisodes of The Division.
mages_guild_wizard 05-02-2004, 11:21 PM As we all know, Jinny is in Maternity leave. They didn't show not even a millisecond of Jinny at all in tonights eppisode. Not even a mere shadow of her. and they probably wont show her for the next two new eppisodes (The ones with Roma Downey in it as a substitute inspector). We should protest and/or boycott the next two new eppisodes by not even watching it at all. I already see how angry all you C.D. fans are that Tracey Needham is gone. Well now we Jinny/Nancy fans are gonna be angry that Nancy was absent from tonight's eppisode and will be absent from the next two new eppisodes. We Nancy/Jinny fans need to protest the show, boycott it, and just simply not watch the next two new eppisodes. Who here agrees.
An angry Nancy McKeon/Jinny Exstead fan!
All Nancy haters will kneal before the great Telvanni Wizard Neloth of Tel Naga.
Jinny will be back, and she'll be back strong with a vengence.
Snnnoooogins.
DivisionFan 05-02-2004, 11:25 PM Jinny might be shown on the May 16th episode. According to Lifetime's website, Jon Tenney (Hank) will be on that episode. So most likely, Jinny will be on there also.
consentida 05-02-2004, 11:25 PM I posted this in another but I feel the sudden need to post it a second time so...
Thats ridiculous. Nancy was on maternity leave herself. Not just Jinny. Its not like theyre completely writing her out of the script. She's coming back. What's three episodes out of the whole season? Nancy is in every other episode. As fans, we should be considerate enough to understand that this was done under special circumstances. Theres no point in boycotting anything. The same goes for any other cast member thats not in certain eps for whatever reason. Its not that big of a deal.
mages_guild_wizard 05-02-2004, 11:33 PM We should start next Sunday 5-9-04. If we do this and spread the message to others to protest and not watch the Roma Downey as substitute inspector eppisodes(the ones without Jinny), the show will get very, very low rating, possibly even extremely low ratings, and realise that Jinny wasn't there at all.
Let's face it. Stacey sucks, C.D. is no longer there. Nate and Raina don't exactly make a perfect inspector duo. The only two without Jinny is the Captain(Kate) and Magda. The only good inspector duo now so far is Jinny and Magda. And Nate was only good when he was with C.D. Now without Jinny in the next two new eppisodes, and with Roma Downy in, the show is screwed. Even Magda wasn't at her best ease with Roma Downy's character substituting for Jinny's maternity leave. If we also do this, it'll guarantee Jinny's stay and no more Roma Downey.
DivisionFan 05-02-2004, 11:39 PM I honestly do not think that they will get rid of Nancy's character unless Nancy it was her decision to leave the show. So I do not think that you have anything to worry about.

Thank you! Saved me the trouble of typing it, and worded it better. :D
mages_guild_wizard 05-02-2004, 11:46 PM Hey, fans did it with the X-Files when agent Scully was gone for three eppisodes due to actress Gillian Anderson taking Maternity Leave. So tell it to the Gillian Anderson and X-Files fans. It happens. It happened before, and it'll probably happen again in the future.
mages_guild_wizard 05-02-2004, 11:49 PM And this protest ain't only because Nancy is gone. It's way more because Roma Downy is in the picture and acts like she wants to take over Jinny's place for good. That's what we'll be protesting, especially.
Snowfall 05-03-2004, 01:25 AM OK, although I agree that these eps right now are pretty bad, and although I hate that CD is no longer on the show, it's not the show's fault that Jinny isn't in these eps. Nancy McKeon deserved a maternity leave, for crying out loud! She'll be back in 2 more eps, and Roma Downey will leave again. And this isn't comparable to CD being gone. She's probably gone for good, and Jinny will be back.
mages_guild_wizard 05-03-2004, 09:04 AM I just hope she doen't bail out after season 4 wraps up.
ANYSNTHATWORKS 05-03-2004, 03:33 PM Uh, if I were you I'd be careful what I wish for. What if they cancel the show because of such low ratings? Then we won't see Jinny at all, even after she comes back after her maternity leave. We won't see her at all, if they cancel the show for low ratings. Nancy deserves a break. That woman has been in oh so many things on television and has worked hard all her life. She deserves a break. And what better way then to spend it with her husband and new baby. Geez be considerate will you? Now don't misunderstand me, we all miss her on the show very much along with Tracey Needham. But just realize Nancy is not immortal or some kind of robot. She needs a break every once in awhile. As much as she loves acting and everything, I think her family is more important to her. And if we have to miss her on TD for a bit, so she can spend time with her family then so be it. Just be glad she's coming back at all. if that were me I would take a five year break...until my kid goes to kindergarten. I wouldn't want to miss any of the firsts. First word, first food, first steps and all. And I will not boycott that, it's ridiculous. The TD episode was still good...well the last twenty minutes I woke up for anyways. True not as good as when Nancy and Tracey were there, but oh well. They need a break. So best to both of them in anything else they do. :-D

I totally agree with ya. Nancy is on maternity leave. She just had a kid. Almost every women takes a matermity leave when they have a kid. They did mention Jinny. Sje's on maternity leave which i think is a good way to write a character out of a show for 3 episodes. Nacy and Jinny will be back. They've probably already filmed more new episodes with Nancy since on the web site they do mention Jinny.

I agree with you.
I'm didn't watch the one last week simply b/c the show w/o Nancy bores me, but I wasn't BOYCOTTING it, I had no intention of that. I just watched Alias, a show that I like more, instead.
Erica H 05-06-2004, 04:47 PM You do realize that by not watching the show the ratings will get lower? It could possibly be in danger of getting cancelled considering this and the fact that many viewers probably did not care to watch after Tracy left. Why not just give these episodes a chance? I mean Hank will be there May 16th so chances are Jinny will only be gone for one more episode. She's not gone forever.
Ewan's My Man 05-06-2004, 09:07 PM And also, what would boycotting do? It's not like they'll refilm these next couple of episodes. They're already filmed.
mages_guild_wizard 05-09-2004, 11:29 PM Okay.

good, i want it to get cancelled..and i stopped watching a week ago, so i guess im in;)
InspectorExstead 05-28-2004, 11:59 PM As much as I love Nancy and worship her and the ground she walks upon, she herself was on maternity leave. She needed a break, after shooting and filming, while pregnant, then delivering a baby. Be thankful she didn't decide to leave the show completely. Boycotting will be useless, they've already filmed, and like someone said, it may hurt ratings and the show.
