Like both shows but i give the slght edge to Good Times because Esther Rolle was a better actor than Phylicia Rashad.

I've never seen an entire episode of Good Times, but I would rather watch my ceiling for 2 months than watch an episode of the Cosby Show. I choose Good Times.

Good Times, just to get the stupid Cosby Show off its schedule :o

I'd much rather hear fingernails scratch across a board than watch TCS.

I never said anything about Clair being better than Florida -- she isnt.

Clair was the worst part of the show.

Never got into Good Times.

Except for a few select episodes, don't like the Cosby Show either.

I'd rather watch paint dry. :p

I agree. I don't like either show, but I would take Good Times to get the Cosby Show off the schedule anyday.

IMO, Good Times and The Cosby Show are not the best "black" sitcoms but they're OK. They aren't good but aren't bad either. Out of the two, I would most likely to choose
Good Times just because it was created by Norman Lear and that it's an 1970's show.

Even if N@N didn't show The Cosby Show too much. I just like Good Times more.

I like both, but I would choose Good Times because Cosby is so overexposed it has lost something. Also, Cosby suffers from an air of self-importance from year 3 onward where it is trying too hard to be this cultural icon and break away from stereotypes. It became too much like somehting produced by a phD rather than a straightforward sitcom.

Good Times had some very bad writing and the year without either parent is not as good as the others, but the show was always entertaining and never unwatchable to me.

old post but I agree. The Cosby Show really seemed to get trapped in it's own self-importance that it ruined the show in the long run. Nobody got caught up more in the hype of The Cosby Show than Bill Cosby himself and season 3 onward lacked the pure humor that was in the first two seasons.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I would love Good Times if it wasn't for JJ, everyone else was great, I just didn't like the character. I'm the same person who thought Happy Days would've been better if it had less Fonz, lol.

I'm new to Good Times and I know The Cosby Show by heart.

I have to go with The Cosby Show, even though I can't watch it today. I've never seen a show so overexposed before.
