Watch the episode "Archie is Worried About His Job" on the First Season. Now, towards the beginning when everyone is in the kitchen, notice when Archie goes, "Nothing is on my mind now, absolutely nothing!" then the phone rings. It seems to me that he changes his voice a little bit when he says "...absolutely nothing!", and I think that's the cue they waited for to start the phone ring sound. Just a thought...
