We can't even post on here anymore without your constant butting in and all of that. I don't know why Janice or TJ does not ban or suspend you from these boards because it is getting way out of hand and I do mean WAY out of hand.

Don't bother in answering me either,I will not answer to you.

I don't recall ever calling Solomon an "Asscrack", nor have I called other female posters a "Bitch". He's called me and others on these boards every put-down name in the book you can ever think of, and so far he has gotten away with it. Whether he thinks it's a joke or not- it's just plain rude. Period. And nobody should be expected to tolerate it.

Michael [hXc]

I'm not going to tolerate it. I apologized to Solomon a long time ago, yet he continued to be rude. Sitcoms Online has gotten rid of one trouble maker already, but Solomon is mistereating people. None of us said anything mean to Solomon, he starts the fights.

Well I don't know about you guys, but there is one person here who is definately following the rules 100%. Shelby (EricIdleFan) has not been coming here lately and trying to start fights. She has just been posting her regular News You can Use Thread, as well as posting on her The Passepartout-Shelby Series. She so far, has not even attempted to start a fight. And I have to really give her credit for her efforts here. Now if Shelby is willing follow the rules 100%; like most of us, Than why can't Solomon follow them as well?

This is what is bothering me right now.

It's not against the rules to post news threads. It is against the rules to post political threads. If the sole point of a thread has to do with Bush, Iraq, the government, the military, foreign relations, or anything of the sort, it is a politics thread. If a news article about song swappers being sued or a court case, then that's fine. Not all the news in Shelby's threads has to do with politics. Plus almost nobody reads her news thread so there isn't any discussions among members of politics in her thread.

Michael [hXc]
05-01-2004, 05:44 PM
The news thread apparently makes her happy, but it is, to my knowledge, still against the rules. I guess it doesn't bother TJ or Janice because the threads haven't been locked.

That's right. If an argument broke out on any news thread, it would get closed.

Now if people start arguing politics on Shelby's news thread, it will be crystal clear that they are doing it with the sole purpose of having her threads not allowed.

Solomon is just angry at the thought of being a "Certified Wackball" because he can't get the digital TV channel Dejaview. Where Three's Company airs six times a day here in Canada. ;)

I have the 1995 one and it distinctly says that Good Times is a spinoff of Maude. Now if you had a scanner with the TV Guides certifying that Good Times is what you say not a spinoff of Maude then we will believe you.

I have the 1999 one and you can't really go by that book because in the 74 magazine the executive producer of the show explains why GT is not a spinoff.

Yep. Pretty much. And episode 145 Going To Pot is aired all the time up here on DejaView. :)

I told you Solomon to get yourself a Canadian Satellite dish. They are extremely cheap these days. Read this thread (http://http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&postid=1605785#post1605785) for more information. :)

I was able to get Going To Pot off of TNN in the summer of 2002

I kind of know where Solomon is coming from in a way. Having never seen Maude in its entirety(only the first season that they showed back in 1999 on Nick at Nite),in the 1973-1974 season of Maude,Florida's husband Henry(before he was called James on Good Times) was introduced and appeared in a handful of episodes and then came the spinoff(per se) called Good Times which acted like that Florida and James lived in Chicago all of their lives. I don't think they made mention on Good Times that they ever lived in New York but on Good Times Florida mentions that she was a maid.

It is like the Jeffersons where they moved away from Bunkersville as George called it and got their own show.

It is like when Laverne and Shirley first appeared on Happy Days and got their own show.

Also,Knots Landing is a spinoff of Dallas because Gary Ewing and his wife Valerie appeared on there.

There should have been a pilot episode of Good Times on Maude like they did when the pilot episode of Maude was on All In The Family.

Well keep in mind that DejavView, TV Land Canada, CTS, and Prime TV all air their TV shows uncut. But you need a Canadian satellite dish to get them (either ExpressVu or StarChoice). I use the exaxt same service to get my American programing on my DirectTV Satellite Dish.

Now FM is a spinoff of PS. The location of the parent show was consistent in FM. Plus the Company Harriet Worked for in PS was mentioned once in FM.

It's true. On Perfect Strangers you had Harriet Winslow. I believe Carl appeared once. I believe they mention they live in an apartment. I never heard anything about kids and when Family Matters started, they lived in a house . They lived in a house since Eddie was born I think. Family Matter was it's own show.

Family Matters is definately a spinoff.

Little things have to be twirked and reworked when making spinoffs.

On Happy Days -- Laverne & Shirley were sluts, but on L&S, they were virgins.

On Cheers -- Frasier was an only child with both parents dead, but on Frasier -- he has a brother and his father is back alive, with a completely different history (but this is all explained in one episode)

Thinking about it, I guess you're right. I just don't understand why there was never a Family Matters pilot on Perfect Strangers. It did seem like Family Matters wanted to distance itself from PS though cause Harriet lost her job at the Chronicle during the first few episodes i think. And Harriet never crossed paths with anyone from PS ever again. Could you imagine Balki and Urkel in the same room as Carl? Carl would have used his gun. LOL

Solomon,I went over to TVTOME and looked up Maude and I found out something.

In episode 42 of Maude, there is an episode called Florida's Goodbye where Henry(James) gets a job promotion somewhere where the pay was better. And Florida hates to say goodbye to Maude and leave New York.

I think that this comes close to what I think is a virtual beginning to Good Times because possibly after they went to Chicago things didn't go as planned and they had to move to the ghetto. And I also think that the episode "Too Old Blues" seems to me that it might have been the job interview in reference to what happened on Maude and come to find out they hired people 21 through 39 and that he didn't get the job.

The Florida Evans character was written off of Maude so that the actress Esther Rolle could star in her own show. There was never a pilot episode of Good Times. Also Good Times is about Eric Monte's life experiences in the city of Chicago. Eric is the guy who created Good Times. So it's no way Good Times is connected to Maude.

I guess it could have been one of the biggest blunders in TV history. Have you ever seen episode 42 of Maude??? Do you think that there are similarities about James' job promotion and the premiere of Good Times which by the way aired 3 days later and also showed "Too Old Blues" as its first episode where in syndication,"Getting Up The Rent" is the first episode. I don't know why they did away with the Florida character on Maude, where on Good Times she said that she was a maid, and a darn good one.

Nope. No similarities at all. In the last episode of Maude, HENRY-note the different name-LOL was promoted and his wife didn't have to work. And on Good Times, JAMES was looking for a job in a different city. No connection if you ask me.

I actually get along better with people on Chit Chat than compared to some of the people of the Tv Board...Some people take certain things about their favorite shows a way too seriously, so you have to watch your p's and q's, which I think is unfair, everybody has a different opinion about everything, and I try my hardest to be tactful to everyone and still I have run into problems:(

As a huge Cheers fan, and a moderate fan of Wings.... I completely agree.

No character of Wings ever appeared on "Cheers", therefore its not a spinoff.

The 2 shows DID crossover, but Wings was a show of its own.

Well I was being sarcastic, but you do make sense, I have always thought of it as a spin off because they had the same creators for both shows(which alot of shows do I know) and since they had some cheers characters on Wings a few times.

But I agree with you:)
