Ok, this may be personal to some, and if it is you don't have to answer it, and I don't want this to somehow turn into a fight, but this has been bugging me for a while.

So I was at my friends house and somehow in a conversation I ended up saying that I loved my parents. So anyways, her mom had heard that and when she met my mom for the first time she had told her that I had said that and she had also said, "Yea, and honestly I'm kind of jealous. I've never heard any teenager say they love their parents, espicially not my own".

So anyways, (I'm 14, almost 15 btw) how did you guys feel about your parents when you were around my age...or if you are my age how do you feel about them now?

I never knew teenagers hated their parents so much, I mean, I've seen stuff in movies but *shrugs* and now that I've heard that I'm able to pick up on some people's loathing of their parents but I dunno, I'm REALLY REALLY close with my parents and I think I argued more with them back when I was younger during the time when you're SUPPOSED to be a little angel child.

But anyways, I'm gonna shut up now...comments?

I thought that was a wonderful thing to say in a conversation, saying that you loved your parents...I try to tell my mom and dad that I love them every time I see them, but when I was a teen-ager I had my moments when my parents were not the most loved people on my list, but I always showed them respect...I think it is very important at any age to tell your parents that you love them and tell them how much they mean to you...:)

I hate my dad because he treats me like **** but i wouldn't want to lose him. i love him in the way that he's my dad but i hate him as a person. he's hypocritical, inconsiderate and mean. I miss my mom terribly. i've always loved and appreciated her, and if she were here i know my life wouldnt be so ****ty.

I loved my folks at 14/15 and still do at 24. I never had a bad relationship with them. I mean, yeah, we made each other mad sometimes, but that's to be expected. But I certainly never hated them.

A lot of people don't actually say, "I love you," but there are other ways of letting them know that. It's good to be close to your parents. If you aren't, you may end up regreting it some day.

I have always loved my parents dearly. I did when I was 14 or 15 and was never afraid to admit it regardless of how my friends felt about theirs.

I hope my kids feel the same way when they are teenagers

That's Sigmund the Sea Monster from an old Sid and Marty Krofft 1970's kid's show.

I always loved my parents. I had the usual teen angst, yet it didn't interfere with my relationship with them.

Don't take your parents for granted. Once they're gone, there's a void in your heart forever. I miss my parents every day of my life.

I care about my parents and don't want to see anything bad happen to them but I never really had that loving feeling towards them that I know I'm supposed to have. I would feel very uncomfortable going up and hugging them. We were never a very affectionate family to begin with.

I have a really good relationship with my mom. I'm really close to her and shes the most amazing woman I know. Its my dad that I have a problem with. I never really got along with my dad. He was never really there for me. So, yeah...

That really irriates me that people would act like that. I know that losing my mother really young gave me an appreciation for my father even if he was always working. I love him very much and tell him so, and did when I was a teenager.

Where would these young people be without their parents, have they ever thought of that? Usually I have found that most seem to "hate" their parents over the silliest things

I Love My Mother and tell her that every day. She does alot For Me And I Know its hard Taking care of me and My Sister.

Im Not too fond of my Father, But I Have good reason. He Used to Physically abuse My Mother. He also cost Mom A Baby that she was going to Have about 2 years before i was Born. One time he Hit Her in front of me When i was 10 and i Shook And Trembled for days. Mom Took Me once and ran Off from him for a few Months when i was 8 or 9 and Out of revenge he shot my Cats And told me they ran away when we came back. Hes Also had alot of problems with drugs And the Law...And I Rarely ever see him And quite frankly, I Dont want to. I'm Not saying i dont Love him at All, He is My Father afterall.....But I Dont really LIKE Him.

Thankfully they divorced when i was 10 (Right After that time i seen him beat My Mom) And We Moved To a House of our own.

Yeah my dad has gotten violent with my mom too. 4 years ago there was a big conflict between them, i dont know the whole story but it got so bad my dad almost had to sell the house and go live by himself while me and my mom and brother would live somewhere else. they fought so much and one time my dad pushed my mom on the ground and choked her. a little while after that my mom took me and my brother to a safe house without telling my dad. he came there looking for us but they wouldnt let him in. i really liked it there though, there were several other people there and entertainment and people that took care of us. my mom started letting me and my brother visit my dad, and after awhile she got an apartment (she was the manager of the apartments) and her and me and my brother stayed there for awhile. they almost got divorced but within months they were getting along better and she moved back in the house.
