Does anybody know if Spike TV will be changing their schedule in June or July? Parts of their schedule could really use some work, there's too much Real TV! What do you all think their schedule will look like when CSI joins the weekday line-up this fall? I think that Spike TV may start airing some of their automotive series regularly during the weekdays as well as maybe daily airings of MXC. Do you think Miami Vice will return? Do you think Baywatch and MacGyver will remain?

I also got to thinking that Spike TV really is not airing movies to much these days. I wonder if they may add a movie to their daily line-up. I don't know about the summer but I think some big changes are in store for September.

During 2 Weeks in June, Spike TV will not air its regular weekday schedule. Instead they will air 2 weeks worth of marathons.

This is the schedule:
Monday June 14: Trucks! (9am - 5pm)
Tuesday June 15: Oblivious (9am - 10pm)
Wednesday June 16: Ren and Stimpy Classics (9am - 5pm)
Thursday June 17: MXC (9am - 5pm)
Friday June 18: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (9am - 5pm)
Monday June 21: Horsepower TV (9am - 5pm)
Tuesday June 22: Oblivious (9am - 5pm)
Wednesday June 23: Real TV (9am - 5pm)
Thursday June 24: MXC (9am - 5pm)
Friday June 25: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (9am - 5pm)

I am assuming that the 5pm - 9pm & 12 - 3am schedule will remain the same.
05:00pm: Real TV
05:30pm: Real TV
06:00pm: Real TV
06:30pm: Real TV

01:00am: Real TV
01:30am: Real TV
02:00am: Ren and Stimpy Classics

This is terrible news. I don't know what I will do without Baywatch. I do not think Baywatch or Miami Vice will return, do you have any ideas on that Pavanbadal? Baywatch needs to atleast air through the summer. There is no series that defines the season of summer better than Baywatch.

Let me get a few things straight:
- Starting June 1, Highlander will air at 9am, 10am, and 3pm?
- MacGyver is going to continue to air on Spike TV? (it is not fair for it to air on Spike TV and TV Land when Baywatch and Miami Vice do not air at all!)
- Is this the schedule starting July 5?
09:00am: Highlander
10:00am: Highlander
11:00am: MacGyver
12:00pm: Seven Days
01:00pm: Star Trek: DS9
02:00pm: Star Trek: TNG
03:00pm: Highlander
04:00pm: Real TV
04:30pm: Real TV
05:00pm: Trucks!
05:30pm: Trucks!
06:00pm: Horsepower TV
06:30pm: Horsepower TV
Do Trucks! and Horsepower TV begin airing in these timeslots when the weekday marathons begin or on June 1?
Do the auto series remain in the 5/6 hours after the June Weekday marathons end?
07:00pm: Star Trek: DS9
08:00pm: Star Trek: DS9
12:00am: Blind Date
12:30am: Blind Date
01:00am: Various
01:30am: Various
What will 'Various' consist of?
02:00am: Real TV
02:30am: Real TV

Do you know other parts of the fall schedule other than CSI and Shipmates times? I did not know what Shipmates was so I looked it up. Why does Spike TV need 2 dating shows. IMO, dating shows are not really appropriate for a men's network.

This channel really does get worse all of the time.
No Baywatch = No Spike TV for me.

Yes, Highlander three times per weekday. Yes, MacGyver will air on Spike weekdays at 11am. TV Land July isn't in yet, but in June MacGyver will still air twice a day on TV Land.

Yes, that is correct. Trucks and Horsepower TV (double yuck) begin airing weekdays 5-6pm and 6-7pm starting June 1 and will also air after the marathons for those two weeks. Also, it seems Monday marathons are gone starting in June.
Various programming starts in July, airing 1-2am, and consists of shows such as, Tripped Out: The Ultimate Guy Vacation, MXC, Stripperella, Ride with FunkMaster Flex, and Joe Schmo 2 (in that order from M-F). Sometimes Blind Date and Cybernet (another original) are also squeezed in there for a half hour.
Also, the original show Hotlines replaces Blind Date at 12am and premieres July 5, Blind Date will still air at 12:30am.

That's all I know about the fall. Shipmates was in first run syndication, it got canceled, and now Spike TV is picking up reruns of it.

Thanks for all the info!

I think those auto shows at 5/6pm will not bring in high enough ratings and Real TV will eventually be added back in.

Nice of them to stop Marathon Mondays when Baywatch is gone.

If Spike TV/Viacom does not bring Baywatch back, does that mean that it will not shown on TV until September 2005 when a different network would be able to start airing it?

I can't understand why Baywatch was taken off the schedule and replaced with Highlander at 9:00 am and 10:00 am. I'm sure there is room for Baywatch once a day. Is it necessary for them to show Highlander three times a day?

What other stations do you think will bring back Baywatch after the license ends on Spike TV. Baywatch is a very popular show, which I will miss very much. I don't know what I'll do without Baywatch being shown anymore.

Since TNN changed the name to Spike TV, the station has gone down hill. I will definitely not watch Spike TV ever again if Baywatch is not airing on that channel.

It would be nice if they put Highlander on at 9/10am and then moved Baywatch to its former spot at 3pm. I'm glad they are showing double episodes right now so we can see as many episodes as possible before it goes off.

I think that Baywatch would fit in well on FX. It don't know that it will return on Spike TV. In January 2003 when TNN moved VIP, Baywatch, Miami Vice, and The A-Team from afternoons to mornings it knocked shows off the schedule like Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Judge Mills Lane, and others. For a long time Baywatch aired with VIP, Miami Vice, and The A-Team. After March of this year all of those shows were gone except Baywatch, so I kind of knew it may only be a matter of time- I just didn't expect it this soon. Now Highlander is moving from afternoons to mornings- I am willing to bet they will drop the 3pm airing by fall.

I hope Spike brings it back, otherwise it will be 15 months before it could possibly be shown again. Spike TV is beginning to move in different directions, what I guess we have to remember is that Baywatch was aquired for TNN: The National Network- not Spike TV.

I know that TNN acquired Baywatch, but they are both one of the same except for the fact that they changed the name to Spike TV. It would be nice if they dropped Highlander in the 3:00 pm, and put Baywatch in that slot. It doesn't make sense to air one show numerous times. Like you, I knew it was inevitable when Baywatch would stop airing, but it didn't think it would be this quickly.

The direction that Spike TV is going, is not a channel that I would be interested in.

I don't know why they have so many showings of Real TV, Blind Date, Highlander.... They could certainly add shows that both men and women would watch instead wasting the time slots with the same shows a dozen times a day.

FX would be a channel that Baywatch would fit in nicely, and I think that A&E and Bravo would also be good channels for Baywatch.

They wouldn't know real TV if it hit them in the face. I agree that they do air a lot of crap from the afternoon through the night hours.

My Comments on Spike TV's Upcoming Line-Ups:

- Now that 'Highlander' is leaving the 3pm timeslot, I am willing to bet it will be permanently stuck at 9 and or 10am for the duration of its time on Spike TV. That will pretty much destroy any chance of 'Baywatch' and/or 'Miami Vice' returning to the channel.

- I am a little surprised to see that 'Seven Days' will still be on the channel this fall. There is only 60 something episodes. I would think this would make more sense at 9am, MacGyver at 10am and Highlander at 11am/12pm. Perhaps the 9/10 hours are more watched hours on Spike TV. I think I also expected 'Seven Days' to be gone soon because when Spike TV re-launced their website in March, they did not create a 'Seven Days' page. They did however make pages for 'Baywatch' and 'Miami Vice'.

- Deep Space Nine sure was a big hit for Spike TV (sarcasm). I wouldn't be surprised if TNG eventually takes over DS9's 1pm airing in the fall. I expected TNG to air closer to CSI.

- I had a feeling that MXC would eventually begin airing weekdays, just like I did with the auto shows. I don't think there are that many MXC episodes (I'm guessing 40 something). They sure are going to go through them fast.

- Kind of strange to just bring in "World's Wildest Police Chases" for 2 months only. Did they aquire it just for this amount of time or will they still have rights to it in September.

- So 'Hotlines' at 12am and 'Various Programming' at 1am have been cancelled. It seems like Spike TV has been changing its mind a lot lately. With this, the marathons cancellations, changes of weekend schedule, originals debuts, ect... Almost all the information in the Spike TV July 2004 Highlights Press Release is now false.

- Is "Shipmates" still set to premiere in November at 2am or did they change their minds on that one as well.

I really do not like Spike TV very much, I guess the channel interests me because they used to show a lot of shows I like (mainly in the TNN days).

Bejabbers! What has happened to the "home of Star Trek" as the commercials said just months ago!?!?

I guess this means only 1 afternoon airing of DS9 and TNG a day, huh? Terrible...just awful. How can they treat the Star Trek legacy like this? Will Voyager be as badly treated when it beams onboard in 2006? Just...ouch.

The rest of their programming doesn't really interest me at all. I would have prefered America's Dumbest Criminals anyway. :)

Well that does make a little more sense for World's Wildest Police Chases to continue airing beyond 2 months.

Spike TV is really getting rid of shows like crazy. First back in late March, a 2nd airing of Baywatch replaced Miami Vice, then in June 2 episodes of Highlander replaced the 2 episodes of Baywatch and now in October the 2 episodes of Highlander will get bumped off due to additional Star Trek airings added. I'm not too surprised that they added more Trek since CSI is bumping it out of primetime.

On another Spike TV note, I caught some of their new Friday/Saturday night block last night- "Midnight Spike". Watching it, I felt as if I were watching MTV and not Spike TV. On The Road, The Adam Sandler Special, and Hotlines had MTV written all over them.

Great, more reality garbage. Spike TV has really made a lot of changes lately. Real TV, Star Trek: TNG, Seven Days, and Blind Date are the only shows left that aired 5 days a week before 2004. I guess before it was still too much like TNN. I had a feeling Trucks! would not remain weekdays for too much longer. A little strange to see Real TV down to one hour a day.

And for Baywatch fans, a 48 hour marathon is in the works on sister station TV Land in November. I can't discuss this right now. It'll be posted on the TVL Nov thread General Sitcoms board when available. It will NOT be joining the TV Land line-up, it's just for one stunt.

I'm guessing that the removal of the 5pm airings of 'MXC' is NOT because of ratings. They have been airing it Weekdays for 3 months now and have probably show each episode a good # of times.

Lots of 'MacGyver' suddenly. I was surprised to see it airing 2x a day on TV Land when 'Hunter' arrives in November (I realize that schedule may still change). I'm even more surprised to see it airing outside of the morning on Spike TV. I like 'MacGyver' but feel that Spike TV should not air it 2x a day when shows like 'Baywatch', 'Miami Vice', and now 'Highlander' go unaired- especially being on TV Land as well.

It would be nice to see some Viacom network air 'Miami Vice' again before the contract expires at the end of the year. Any news on where it will turn up next year?

As for the 48 Hour Marathon of 'Baywatch' on TV Land...I had to read that about 20 times to make sure I was not dreaming. Even if it's just for a weekend, it will be great to see 'Baywatch' on TV again and maybe record some episodes I don't have. Now let's say this 'Baywatch' marathon was to do really well in ratings...wouldn't TV Land then want to add it to the regular line-up (finish up TNN/SpikeTV's contract and then start a new one if the show was doing well). I don't understand why TV Land would air a 48 hour marathon of a show that isn't a TV Land show if they weren't testing to see if it would be a good addition to their line-up. I'm unaware of any special 'Baywatch' anniversaries in November. I think 'Baywatch' would be a good addition to TV Land. It's definately a classic and a special part of television history. I'm guessing most of the episodes in this marathon will be from the Pamela Anderson years (which are the best, and not necessarily because of her).

This is not a drama, but since this is like the only Spike schedule thread I thought I''d post here. Spike has acquired The Three Stooges! A marathon will air on April Fool's Day 9am-6pm, then it will air on the weekends from 9-10am (sometimes 10-11am on Sundays only). No other changes to the lineup at all. Though, "Kung Fu" movies will air starting March 12 every Saturday at 2pm. CSI week, March 21-25, 12pm-9pm.
