View Full Version : Name an Unsuccessful Sitcom that You Liked?
Lady T 04-28-2004, 09:27 PM Name an unsuccessful sitcom or spin-off that lasted less than two seasons that you actually enjoyed...I finally got the chance to see The New Odd Couple..which I heard horror stories about and I actually liked it a lot..I liked the chemistry between Demond Wilson and Ron Glass and I though Glass made an excellent Felix..
vashti1999 04-28-2004, 10:15 PM FOX's South Central, CBS' Gregory Hines Show and WB's Muscle, to mention three.
Mr. Television 04-29-2004, 12:09 AM Phenom. Bad News Bears, Angie, C.P.O. Sharkey and shows that were cancelled to early like Norm and Titus.
Theirs probably more that I haven't thought of.
MistyDoll 04-29-2004, 12:17 AM Three's A Crowd!!!:D
dandelion wine 04-29-2004, 01:51 AM Quite a few, but Titus is one that sticks out for me. There's no way that one deserved to be canned.

I remember Phenom. I liked it.
On it's own...Saved by the Bell: The College Years.
Ant-Lox 04-29-2004, 09:01 AM I liked Titus, can't really think of any more.
PZelda 04-29-2004, 10:19 AM I liked SBTB: College Years (I saw it in its original run) and Flash Forward (I saw that in its original run, too). The College Years only went for 13 episodes, I think, and Flash Forward had 22 episodes during the 1995-96 season.
The US is so mean to Canadian TV shows. :(
One of my favorite short lived shows was "Norm" with Norm McDonald.
I'm a big Norm fan, and I just loved that show. I wish it did better in the ratings.

Chain Gang Member 04-29-2004, 07:12 PM I forgot the name but it was an animated show where a kid goes to live with his brother and gets drunk on his first visit
The Ropers(even though I saw one episode)
Three's A Crowd(even though I only saw one episode)
jericho 04-29-2004, 08:25 PM Do Over was a very good show about a kid who gets sent back to 1980 to relive his youth. The gags and jokes were witty, (like the time he goes to a halloween party dressed as a ghostbuster when ghostbusters was 4 years from being released) The WB should have given this show more of a chance. It was well acted, well written, and had a plot different from anything else on TV.

Me too. I wasn't a fan of SBTB The College Years, though.
There was a pilot I liked a lot on Fox in 1990. Perhaps you heard of it. It was called "The World According to Straw."
Chain Gang Member 04-30-2004, 03:15 PM I wasn't a fan of SBTB The College Years, though.
I actually did
Dean Winchester 04-30-2004, 03:40 PM Do Over -- sitcom set in 1981 by a guy who was knocked in the head and relived his youth. Only lasted about 10 episodes but was good.
Life With Roger -- Mike O'Malley playing the same character he plays on Yes Dear, sans wife and kids but still with the baseball cap, but back then he was actually funny
Get A Life -- Chris Elliott, it's a cult show, but I think it could've run a few more seasons
Arrested Development (might be if Fox cans it) -- GREAT ensemble cast, I love Jason Bateman and Portia deRossi. Intelligent and hilarious and Fox should let it grow.

OOOOOOOO! I also liked That's My Bush. That was a FUNNY show. I think it only lasted a few episodes back in early 2001.
