im sorry but i have to disagree. First of all there have been many shows greater than "Friends" in the past (well thats my opinion anyway). I don't hate the show but my life is not going to end when the show does. Anyway, I defianently don't think this is the biggest thing in TV history

well, this is the Friends board, so we're more than likely are going to agree that the end of Friends IS an event.
I admit I was personally more upset when Buffy and Sex And The City ended, but still... Friends leaving is a major event. Definately is nice to see an actual TV SHOW stealing thunder away from all the reality crap

I doubt the Friends finale will have as many viewers as either the final episode of Mash, or the "Who shot JR?" episode of Dallas.

I do have to agree...it sure is nice to see an actual show taking away from reality shows!

I don't think it will surpass the amount of viewers for the Seinfeld Finale myself.

Well my life is not going to end, but my tv habits certainly are. As far as watching tv goes, Friends is really the only sitcom I have been watching. The only other sitcoms I liked went off the air years ago and either don't are anymore or are on TV Land now. So, hopefully Joey will be good or else I have no real funny show to be watching!
One thing is for sure- once Friends goes off the air, there will be no modern classic still on tv.
And this is the biggest finale since Seinfeld, and I think Friends has a bigger following anyways.
I'm just glad I have these dvd sets that have come out the last year or so to help me get through this! Within the next year or so, every season will be at my fingertips ready to be watched whenever I feel like it.

If I like to see the "Friends" series finale this Thursday, I will start watching reruns on WPIX soon.:) The show will still be on weeknights at 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

Well "Frasier" will be on, but only for a week.
And "Seinfeld" has a bigger following, and definately has a bigger cult following.
"Seinfeld" will no doubt be the highest selling TVDVD ever.
"Friends" leaving TV is a big deal, but "Frasier" is more important IMO.

This is definately going to be a big night in television. Whether people like the show or not, the ratings speak for itself and there are alot of people that regularly watch the show. I will definately be watching.
