Fields Offically Introduced as "Price" Announcer

Rich Fields was officially introduced to the nation by Bob Barker as the new permanent announcer of "The Price Is Right" Tuesday and Fields called the new job "a 30-year dream come true."

Fields won the job after a series of on-air auditions of veterans and newcomers to national television.

The 41-year-old Fields will continue his job as meteorologist for a local station in Palm Springs while taping "Price".

On Tuesday's show, Maria Ritchie ran into extraordinary malfunction playing "2 for the Price of 1".

She rebounded in the showcase to win a trip to Sydney, Austrailia, and a new trailer. Her total prizes: $30,742.
