barwars 04-26-2004, 03:44 PM ....people think they're all big and bad because they make fun of things that they're "too old for" or "too mature"??
And they cant grasp the fact that someone may like something just for nostaliga??
Rhiannon 04-26-2004, 04:25 PM yes
Tuesday Weld 04-26-2004, 05:14 PM yep.
MandieR1980 04-26-2004, 06:41 PM yup I've had my mom make comments when I buy Care Bears. I guess I should make fun of those Little Rascals dolls she has in her closet.

yeah i have a shirt from there that says "don't make me go zelda on you." i <3 hot topic.
Polniaczek033 04-26-2004, 07:32 PM Yes, I have when people do that. They make fun of you or someone else because you're doing something or liking something that's "immature" or "too childish", but you turn around and they're doing something like that. Bah.

Actually, that does fit in to it all.... but its not what its about.
I wore a Weezer shirt to school with the Muppets on it, and some people just started bashing the Muppets.
But I agree -- truce.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 04-26-2004, 08:01 PM I like to watch cartoons on nicelodeon sometimes and my mom gets pissed because I'm 15 and she says I'm too old for them.
spunkygirl 04-26-2004, 08:19 PM Yeah I hate that  I hate when you go to buy certain things and people look at you like you have two heads or something

Hey, my dad's 62 and he STILL watches Looney Tunes. So you're never too old to watch cartoons.

My, what a loser.
Kidding... I'm kidding. ;)
Ewan's My Man 04-27-2004, 05:45 PM all of that nostalgia stuff is really popular in our school, it's so weird hearing about other schools and how different they are

Guess it takes one to know one.
I didn't take it as kidding. If you had to tell me you were kidding, it wasn't funny in the first place.
My dad is a decent, hard-working man who would do anything for his family, so a comment like that offends me, whether you say you were kidding or not.
*Miss Randomness* 04-27-2004, 08:28 PM hmmm it does bug me but i guess i really can't talk because i never watched cartoons ever.

In this case, the member was introducing him or her self to the boards. Nobody was singling anyone out. I don't know why you would think it was you. You have been acting cool with everyone lately.

Oh lighten up. I don't even know your father, or you for that matter, so there is no reason to take what I said to heart. The original poster in this thread was talking about how people think they're all big and bad when they bash you for liking stuff that you are "too old for", so I was just joking. It wasn't meant to be offensive. At least I said that I was kidding.
Good god, people are so sensitive.

Oh, so I'm sensitive. When it comes to somebody calling my father a loser, THEN I'M SENSITIVE!!!
I bet if you had somebody you were close to and somebody else called that person a loser, you'd react the same way. Then again, I have a feeling you have NOBODY that you're close to.

I found an Atari T shirt for my 30 year old son . I also buy him Dukes Of Hazzard trinkets for his birthdays and Christmas.
I have a big collection of Beatles T shirts. My daughter likes to make fun of that! She'd rather that I'd wear Duran Duran I guess!

My brother has that shirt. I got him the one that has a pic of the NES cartridge and it says "pure gold"
I have the one that has the life hearts on it. 16 of them I think, all are empty except one that is half full and it says "Life is this all there is?"
I also have a Mario one that says "Know your mushrooms"
