“The Principal” -- When Bridget is busted over a school dress code violation, Cate is called upon to meet with her new principal, Ed Gibb (Adam Arkin, “Chicago Hope”). But Cate is in for a shock when she discovers that she went to high school with Ed -- who remembers it vividly -- though she doesn't remember him at all. Meanwhile, when C.J. becomes his massage therapist, Jim hurts his feelings when he refuses to admit that his wayward grandson has become good at something, on “8 Simple Rules,” TUESDAY, MAY 11 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

“8 Simple Rules” stars Katey Sagal as Cate Hennessy, Kaley Cuoco as Bridget Hennessy, Amy Davidson as Kerry Hennessy, Martin Spanjers as Rory Hennessy, with James Garner as Jim and David Spade as C.J.

Guest starring are Adam Arkin as Ed Gibb, David Carey Foster as custodian and Liam Sullivan as Zac.

“The Principal” was written by Seth Kurland and directed by Lynn McCracken.

”8 Simple Rules” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.

This program carries a TV-PG,D parental guideline.

but why would an old highschool classmate be upset at Cate for not remembering him? It's been like 25 years ago since Cate graduated from h.s. and she went through alot in the past year, like the death of her beloved husband! And wasn't Cate & Paul highschool sweethearts??:confused:

If I remember correctly, in a recent episode Cate mentioned that she met Paul at a party her roomate took her to, so I think they met in college (I got that impression from other episodes as well). I agree with you though that I don't know why he'd be upset since it has been years. :confused:

I heard that this guy is going to be Cate's new "romantic interest" on imdb.com and that he may be replacing Paul. Even though no one could replace John ritter. I duno about you guys but i think it's a little soon. :confused:

That's true...I still think it's going to be really weird with a new love interest for Cate. Not that I wasn't expecting one or anything, but I guess it will just be a lot different.

They should have had Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy) play Arkin's part. It would have been great to see the two of them act together again.

I thought the episode was really funny (especially the bit with the poster with Kerry on it - Amy was great in that scene!) but I thought the principal was obnoxious. No way would I want to see him with Cate.

This new Principal fella just gives me the creeps, and I just cringe everytime he utters a word and I don't like that they made this guy as someone Cate met before Paul because it is implying that this ugly dweeb was Cate's first love, and I will never accept that Paul was Cate's 1st love, not this weirdo!:mad:
