View Full Version : Is gouging someone's eye with a Ticonderoga pencil right?

Do you think gouging out someone's eye with a Ticonderoga pencil is right or wrong? I think the answer is no.

Sometimes, when I get lousy reception on my phone, I feel like my eye is getting gouged out with a Ticonderoga pencil.

The removal of one's facial features with an office supply is an awful thing.

Vote in my poll and tell me what you think about eye-gouging.

Ticonderoga is simply the brand name of the pencil. It's the same as your standard pencil you use with an eraser.

Why does thinking it's wrong to gouge out someone's eye with a pencil make me dense? Geez, grow up people. How can anyone think that's right?

Uh, no. You seem to be mistaken. I was talking about you thinking this was a SERIOUS topic. Ya know, not sensing the sarcasm...even though it was layed very thick. Gouging someone's eye out with a pencil? You think he REALLY meant it seriously, and if he laughed at him, he'd take it to heart? Please. The reasons why he started this topic is so obviously clear only Ray Chareles wouldn't notice. Take a look at some previous topics made the last few days and you'll see.

Not knowing the definition of "ticonderoga" is not really what makes you dense. It's the fact you wouldn't know sarcasm if it blatantly smacked you in the face.

Ticonderoga is just a brand..of #2 pencils.

I've come to the conclusion that the "1989" represents what year she/he was born in.

For god sakes, Jen. The intent of this thread was to give people a laugh, not to get you to throw a hissy fit.

It looks like I'm going to have to spell it out for you: this thread is a parody of another thread. It also acts as a criticism on some of the threads that have been posted around here lately.

As Sarah said, lighten the hell up.

Lets say for argument's sake that someone gouged your eyes out, would it still be funny? No it wouldn't. I guess some of you will have to learn that the hard way.

Ya know-if you had gotten it in the begining you would not be making such a big deal about this. But because you missed the joke you're pissed. Just come correct and say that you didn't get it. Making a big issue over this makes you look even more foolish.

Oh Jesus tapdancing Christ, give it up already. This isn't the work place, this is a site on the internet to "get to know your fellow members and have fun." Go to the main board page and you'll see exactly that on the Chit Chat tab.

Maybe if you got a sense of humor, you'd actually enjoy some threads instead of tearing them all to shreads with your "It's not necesarry" and "It's not very nice" comments. It's not necesarry for you to be here, yet you continue to be, even after all these "unnecessary" threads. So if you have a problem, why do you keep coming back?

Well, I guess if being stupid consists of having a sense of humor, knowing what sarcasm is, then yeah I'm a frigging moron. Why the hell should I grow up? Your view of "growing up" apparently consists of complaining about every little joke made, and taking pointless crap WAY too seriously.

If I got my eyes gouged out by a #2 pencil, would I regret joking about it on this thread? HELL NO, what I say here, or anywhere for that matter, in no way dictates what happens to me in the future. Jokes especially apply. Lighten up.

Well seeing that I accidentally stabbed my finger with a pencil today, Id have to go with no.

But after some serious thought, weighing in on the concequences -- Im going with yes. In self defense, its perfectly fine.
But just doing it for fun -- pyschos.

I have no idea what Ticonderoga means, but it's NEVER ok to gouge out someone's eye! It's VERY wrong! Geez, that should be obvious! People can get committed to a mental hospital for doing things like that. Anyone who thinks it's ok needs help. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but NO ONE has the right to do that. Doing that could seriously damage a person's eye, possibly blinding them. Some people can be so cruel. Glad that's never happend to me. I'd never do something like that. Gouging out someone's eye with a pencil, what has the world come to? Ticonderoga is the brand name of a pencil.

I felt sorry for Jen in this thread. She seems to be a nice person, and she did get quite a bit of stick. I know some people were annoyed that she was criticising the thread because it was only intended as a sarcastic joke, but still...people seemed to get at her quite a bit and reading it, I felt sorry for her.

Thank you. I appreciate that. Seeing this thread brought back is an unpleasant reminder of what this thread was about. I'm sorry that when this thread was created I didn't realize it was a joke. Having said that though, I think people were way too hard on me about it.
