Slavery is definitely WRONG! People don't need slaves to do their work and responsibilities for them. Everyone deserves the right to their own freedom and responsibility. It is selfish, unfair, and everyone deserves to be free. Nobody deserves to be put into a slaves place.

There is a big difference between doing extra chores at home and being a slave. A little extra work won't hurt you and will give you a sense of responsibility.

Sex slavery exists, and it is strong throughout all of the western countries- including the US and Canada. I wish the police would put more effort to stop it. :(

It was very big in ancient greece.... or was it ancient rome? Most people back then were slaves.

If there really are Americans around who still support slavery, then that is sick. There are probably are a few though. And chores and homework aren't the equivalent to being a slave.

Why should you be ashamed for somebody you don't know nor did you have any influence over? I'm not ashamed of MY ancestors. We even have proof of them owning slaves. I came across a newspaper article about founding families where my grandmother is from and there was a story on her parents settling the area and about the different workers (slaves) they had. It was pretty neat to hear my great-grandmother tell stories from back then.

This was a stupid topic but slavery is definitely wrong. I watched all the episodes of Roots movies earlier this yr for the first time & i was shocked at what my ancestors went through. I couldn't believe they had that big chain around Levar Burton's neck like that. He looked like he could barely breath. I also don't like how they had the slaves chained up next to each other on the boat. They wouldn't feed them & they couldn't use the bathroom. Just imagine being on that boat & if a slave had to use the bathroom, they would just s**t on themselves & u would have to smell it. I'm glad blacks have come a long way since those times but things haven't changed much cause racism will never go away. I think racism is the most dumbest thing i've ever heard of. How can u dislike somebody cause of the color of their skin? I blame whites for racism.

Blacks ain't never hated whites cause of the color of their skin but back in those times, blacks hated them cause of the way they were treated. Go back and read your history. Blacks were selling blacks into slavery over in Africa. And once again you are generalizing by saying whites created racism and slavery.

yeah. a few years ago there was this new black guy at my school and we hated him because he was annoying and he thought we were racists. he started to understand we werent racist later on though and we became friends. me and him had an inside joke where we sing "cry me a n**ger" instead of justin ****erlake's "cry me a river." ha
