I wondered... what was the last episode you watched? Any speical moments or quotes from that episode you'd like to share? I'd like to hear! ;)

The last episode I watched was *surprise* "Oy to the World"! It was aired here on Friday! Weird to have the Christmas special when the summer just started! lol Anyway. The more I watch this episode the more I like it. Elfis was cool! :) I wondered about the voices. Maybe you can help? Who dubbed CC's date? (The rain guy that appeared at the end.) Here it was a voice that they usually don't have as a regular. I thought that it was weird that CC got a strange guy at the end, don't you think?

I don't remember who did "Rain Man's" voice. But, I guess you never saw the movie "Rain Man" where that character comes from. The movie was about an autistic man played by Dustin Hoffman. He actually did talk like the character in "Oy to the World." I just thought I'd explain that since you probably wouldn't know about that over in Germany LOL.

I think the last ep. I watched was "The Rosie Show." It's one of my favorites of season 4. "Oh, my God, that's the thing, isn't it? You told her how you felt, and then you took it back! No, you'd never be that stupid!" LOL I love that line.

And of course, being the "Dick Van Dyke" fan that I am, I love Yetta's dream. "Here's Richie!" She points to the mirror. "And there's Millie!" hehe.

Thanks for pointing out about Rain Man. I've seen that movie and really liked it. Great work by Dustin Hoffman! I thought they were referring to this movie. What I meant by "strange guy" was that he isn't related to The Nanny. I think it's weird that CC would "get" that Rain Main. But well, I guess they liked the connection of "rain" and "wind". lol Nevertheless I think it's weird! It would have been fun if Daniel Davis had spoken that part.

I like the Rosie show, too! That line from Niles is great! I love that scene! It took him a time to find out. :D He can't stand not to know! I also watched "Fashion Show" the other day Niles and Max are having such a dialog in that episode, too:

Maxwell: Was C.C. right? Have I let my judgement be impaired by my feelings for Miss Fine?
Niles: What feelings are those, Sir?
Max: Well, you know.
Niles: No, I don't.
Max: Come on, Niles.
Niles: Oh, but you'd feel so much better if you just said it!

then Fran enters:

Max: Oh, all right...
Fran: Knock, knock.
Niles:Oh *wait*!!!

"Fahion Show" is one of my favorites too! That scene is just priceless! Niles wanted to KILL Fran for walking in when she did. And of course there's also C.C.'s classic, "I think you're thinking with your 'little producer' again." For some reason, in my fanfiction, I keep referring to that line, LOL. I keep having C.C. accuse Max of letting his 'producer' make his decisions for him!

haha! How could I forget about "the little producer"! That was hilarious! One time she kept the upper hand. :) Usually she looses the verbal battles, I think. But this time she got it absolutely right! lol I also love that scene when Niles is watching Fran and Max working at his desk! lol A great episode! Right now I love 3rd season!! :D

I know, me too! Season 3 is when it really starts to bother Max when Fran dates other men. We begin to see his jealous side hehe. (See "Green Card" if you don't believe me! ;) ) The really funny part of it is, as jealous as he was, he refused to admit he had feelings for her!

What episode was it where Fran was gone and Niles instead jumped on Max desk? I can't remember why she was gone! I love those scene when Niles tries to point out to both of them that they have feeling for each other but they wouldn't get Niles' hints! Like the one where Fran and Max be sorry for a fight. I think the ep. where Niles sits on Max's desk is "Hurricane Fran," but I'll have to check my tape. The other one, I'm drawing a blank, too. I know the scene you're talking about, I can see it. I know it's from the 5th season, but it's not coming to me.

As for Niles hinting, what about the classic "Apple/Pear" speech from "A Fine Frienship"? "Good God, man, have a bloody pear!" Totally went over Max's head, LOL!

I like "Val's Boyfriend" as well, but unfortunately, I can't help you. I only taped my faves of each season, and I don't have that one. I haven't seen it in a really long time, either. But I'll keep an eye out for it on Lifetime. Sorry I can't be more help!

But I do have an answer about the scene you mentioned earlier, where Niles sat on Max's desk. It's not from "Hurricane Fran," it's "Where's Fran?" (Hey, I was close, wasn't I? LOL) I watched "Hurricane Fran" earlier, and the scene wasn't there, so by process of elimination, it must be from "Where's Fran?"

Speaking of "Hurricane Fran," one of the flashbacks is to the famous "chicken" scene. I keep noticing how Lauren is trying really hard not to laugh while she's clucking, and she's not quite succeeding LOL. It always makes me think, if that's the take they had to use, what must the outtakes be like?? What I wouldn't give to see outtakes from that! ;)

The chicken scene is one of many reasons I cannot wait for this show to come out on DVD!! If they have outtakes from that on season 3, I will be the happiest "Nanny" fan on the block! LOL!

You can't blame either Lauren or Daniel for cracking up! At least in Daniel's case it was in character somewhat! I notice a lot that Daniel seemed to really enjoy putting C.C. down. Sometimes it seems like he can hardly wait for the audience to stop laughing so he can say his next line! It's so cute! LOL

Ah! Interesting about Daniel! I noticed that he sometimes impatiently waits to "throw" his next line to Lauren. They have quite a good chemistry and timing. I guess they know quite well how the other is acting. I like that. I don't know about Daniel waiting for the audience to stop laughing. Due to dubbing timing is messed up here in some way. But so far it works. I like these small grinning faces both do in some scene. For example in "The Pass-Over Story" C.C. says "Aren't you ashamed to be a butler?". They have a small dialog going on and when Lauren finished with a zinger she blows a small "air-kiss" into his direction. It really brought Daniel out of concept! It was like "I gotcha!" in two ways: C.C.'s and Lauren's lol I was funny! And he started to smile and hide it! Cute! ;) Are there things like that for Fran and Charles?

BTW there are news about the DVDs at Benjamin's website. They definitely work on the DVDs now. There will be a release. I hope for nice extras! Maybe a blooper of the cluck-like-a-chicken scene! :D

To return to the main question of this thread, the last eps. I watched were "Me & Mrs. Joan," and "California, Here We Come." I LOVE Yetta in "Me & Mrs. Joan!" "Did anyone see Babe? How'd they get that pig to learn all those lines? What am I, nuts? A pig can't learn lines! He must've used cue cards!" :lol: Classic Yetta!

"California, Here We Come" is OK. I remember the first time I saw it, I was just waiting for some reference to The Beverly Hillbillies b/c, knowing Fran, it was just bound to come up. And then Donna Douglas showed up! LOL! I was like, "Ok, that takes care of that!" I only really like a few season 6 shows, though, so this isn't one of my faves.

Yes! The Babe lines by Yetta in "Me & Mrs. Joan," are hilarious! And I absolutely agree about "California, Here We Come". I was disappointed by this one, too. It had nothing special. The appearance by Donna Douglas was fun but not the best they did. I like a lot episodes out of 6th season but this one was just dull. :(

Today we had "Where's The Pearls?". I forgot about this episode! I really liked it! So many plotlines and two big guest stars! I loved the Jacuzzi scene: "Hi Hubby! Oh sweetie, I don't remember much about our married life, but I figure there's got to be a reason this tub is big enough for two!" lol Did someone ever saw the continuation of that episode that is described at the RUNHP site? They also had "The Hockey Show" here today. I didn't like this one much. No F/M and no big scenes for Niles and CC either. I don't know... this wasn't a favorite. :( Other opinions about this one?

"The Hockey Show" isn't a favorite of mine, either. Maxwell should've been bothered more by Fran having a boyfriend. It coudl've been really good to watch him get jealous of an athlete. It's not even like he had ever shown any interest in sports before, and suddenly he was so impressed that Fran was dating a hokey player. I just didn't get that.

"Where's The Pearls?" is very good, it's unfortunate that Lifetime cuts that wonderful "splash" scene and Niles' hilarious entrance. "Miss Babcock's on the phone, sir, but I'll just tell her you'll call her back as soon as you and Miss Fine get out of the jacuzzi." Thank God we can see it online at least!

I can't remember where I downloaded it, but I think it was the German Fran Drescher site, fran-drescher.com. It was either that or the Nanny Museum site. And I could not agree more, it's one of the best scenes. What's even more ridiculous is that they leave it in the flashback in "Hurricane Fran." Go figure, LOL

I'm not a huge "Cantor Show" fan, again, no jealous Max (In case you can't tell by now, I LOVE that side of him ;) )

The line about C.C. announcing herself went like this in English:
C.C.:Maxwell, it's your worst nightmare!
Niles:Oh, will you stop announcing yourself? I'll be out of a job!

The ending to "That's Midlife" is really sweet, and it kind of makes you think that maybe Max isn't the one with all the advantages after all. More importantly, Max realizes it. It's one of the eps. that really lays the groundwork for Paris.

The last ep. I saw was "Danny's Dead and Who's Got the Will." I can't quite put a finger on it, but this ep. doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's b/c a couple of nights ago, I saw "Affair to Dismember" again, and that one's just really hard to top! Season 4 seems to have a lot of "hits and misses." It's like they go from a really good ep, back to a not-so-good one. JMO.

"Ship of Fran's" is good too. I love that "good witch/bad witch" line! And of course, yet again, Max is jealous. I think season 3 is when the sexual tension seems to be off the charts. That becomes really fun to watch.

Yes, they really did go on a Carribbean cruise, and the captian was real. I read that on the RUNHP. They probably had a deal with Celebrity crusies. Shows do that all the time. The final dance is good, but I prefer the slow dance of "Kindervelt Days" back in season 2. But for what it was, it was good.

The last ep. I watched was the pilot (I have it on tape), and it makes me think: Do you think it's possible that Max and C.C. were a couple before Fran moved in? I'm not saying it was anything serious, although C.C. probably thought it was LOL. It's just between Maggie identifying her as "Father's lady friend," and the way C.C. was treating Max (Calling him "Darling" and giving him the massage), you really do get the impression that they were more than business partners. Does anybody else have an opinion?

BTW, Rill, the scene from "Pen Pal" that you asked me about awhile back, w/ the Yiddish words, is online at the Nanny Museum site. I thought of you when I downloaded it! :)

Aaah! Kristen! Thanks so much for letting me know about the Pen Pal clip! :) I haven't been to the Nanny Museum for a while so I missed it! I downloaded the clip and it's hilarious!!! I love that scene so much! lol It's fun to see Niles pestering Max about Fran's pen pal! I love the dialog at the mirror and also when Niles gives them their jackets. It's also cool to hear the Yiddish words! You know... I don't want to come back to that topic again (I'm a pest, I know! ;) ) but it's fun to hear Niles say "verschimmelt" which is a "normal" German word meaning molded! lol It's great to hear how DD pronounce the word! :) I love that scene!

You know... I find it quite interesting what you say about C.C. and Max' relation in the pilot. I always wondered too if it was intended that both had a relation. I guess it was but later in 6th season Fran asks Max about it and he says he never had a relation with C.C. I guess they changed that but there were hints about a "real" relation in the pilot. I absolutely agree here. I also thought that Lauren and Charles were quite good together. They had some "sexual chemistry". I think if they had "met" in another movie or TV series where they would have been "meant to be" I'm sure that they would have been a great and believable couple. But - of course - they had to "factor out" their relation on The Nanny. That's also a cause why I always wondered if it was planned that Niles and CC would become a couple. I guess not although the characters were quite developed at the pilot already. Any thoughts about all that?

I agree with you about Charles and Lauren's chemistry. That's what makes me think there was supposed to have been something between Max and C.C. at that point. About Max denying it in season 6, it's very possible that, with all that was going on in Max's life before Fran (i.e., the kids, losing Sara, etc.), he didn't really notice what was going on with C.C. Maybe he took her out a couple times just as business associates, but C.C. read more into it than that. Especially since she once said she'd been after Max since he was first married! I know, I'm probably analyzing this way too much! ;)

Now, about the C.C./Niles thing, I don't think that was planned from the start. I know that there are hints in seasons 4 and 5, but the writers didn't really go anywhere with it till almost the end of season 6. I just figure if they'd planned to have them get togther all along, they would've started the process sooner like they did with Max and Fran.

Last night I watched another ep. off my first season tape: "Here Comes the Brood." First off, how adorable is Gracie in this one? ;) Second of all, there are some really great N/C.C. lines here too. "Oh, and it's so tricky getting vomit out of pith!" "Next week, Chuck E. Cheese?" And I love the bond that already exists between Fran and the kids. I love when Fran comes out of the bathroom with Grace, and Max says "thank you," to Fran and you can tell he means it. It's just the tiniest hint of how he feels for Fran.

You may be right about C.C. and Max. I'm sure he took her out and she read more into it than there was. :) That would be so typical C.C.! It could also be that they just forgot in 6th season what they did in the pilot. Maybe they had different writers at that point. I think that's how plot confusions in long running TV shows starts. It would be fun to see Lauren and Charles together again one day. Who knows!? Maybe in a play! I think they would be perfect together! Again... just my humble opinion of course. ;)

I agree with you that it wasn't planned to get C.C. and Niles together from the beginning. I guess if it would have been intended they would have cast actors closer in age. But who knows! It's not unusual to have male actors that are a lot older than their female partners. See Cary Grant! He usually had partners that could have been his daughters. :) But back to the CC/Niles relation. I think they start building it since the middle of 2nd season. Their jokes became more light-hearted here. They smiled more often and 3rd season starts with the kiss of Niles and C.C. which was a surprise. I think they tested the reaction of the audience here and it worked! I guess the "building" of their relation wasn't that obvious compared to the F/M relation because they were "only" support. And of course Niles and CC aren't as romantic as Fran and Max are.

BTW! I've to come back to Lauren's and Charles' "chemistry". The last episode I watched was The Heather Biblow Story. When C.C. learns Fran won't come back she has this "daydream" which shows her as Max' wife. (Lifetime don't cut out this scene, do they?) I think there's that chemistry again! But - of course - C.C. messes up when she's looking at her ring. I think it shows that she's not emotionally interesed in him... just in his social status.

"The Heather Bibelow Story" is a good one, and I think you've hit it as far as C.C.'s feelings toward Max. She's not in love with HIM, so much as what he represents. Remember, she was brought up in high society, so Max is exactly the kind of guy she's "supposed" to marry. I think that has a lot to do with why she's always after him. It's kind of like how Fran always talks about wanting to find a Jewish husband. That's what she's been raised to look for.

Continuing with my first-season trend, the last ep. I watched was the classic "The Butler, The Husband." Lots of good lines here. "I was drunk at the wedding!" "We can have anything we want. He's Niles - the butler!" And who can forget Brighton's classic Bush impersonation? I love how the whole show literally takes place in one day. I guess if you're an N/CC fan, there's not much to look for in this one, but then again, I don't take that approach ;) And once again, we get a tiny little hint from Max about how he feels about Fran. The first season's full of hints, if you look hard enough. :)

Yes, I agree about your point of how Fran/CC have been raised. I guess that's what's most important for the characters. At least you can see it best with Fran. Her mother still has a great impact on her life and Sylvia isn't very discrete about her wish to see her daughter married to a rich and maybe jewish guy. lol

Yeah. You got me! I'm a Niles and CC fan! ;) Nevertheless I enjoy a lot other aspects of the Nanny. I've taped "The Butler, The Husband...." I really liked that episode!! I liked the confusion they started and how Max fit into the story. lol It was funny! Thanks for quoting. I'm always happy to read quotes! It's a good way to remember! (BTW I really enjoy the Pen Pal clip. Now I want to see the whole episode undubbed. lol)

The last two episodes I watched were "Pub in Paris" and "Tart with the Heart". I always think that these episodes are tough! One can't help but feel with Fran and don't understand Max. I really love the last scene in "Tart..." when Fran and Max decide to be friends and start to kiss. One gets hope again. ;) Any opinions about these episodes? Concerning the "end of season episodes" I enjoyed "Fran's gotta have it" more. Someone agree?

I knew "Pup in Paris" and "Tart with Heart" were going to be next for you. Both are great. I agree about that last scene in "Tart with Heart." I've always said, if that's Max's definition of a friend, then I'd love to be friends with him! ;)

The last ep. I watched was "Imaginary Friend." I just love the scene where Max and Fran drop everything to "save" Imogene. "I'll pump her little heart!" And then Fran begins pounding on the table! LOL! And when Max tries to clear Imogene's airway, only to have Grace tell him, "That's not her mouth. Eeew!" The look on Max's face is priceless! This is definitely one ep. I can't wait to see uncut on the DVD when it comes out. :)

Yes! "Imaginary Friend" is a great episode! I like that scene, too. Gracie is so cute. I also like the scene at her therapist later. It shows how close Fran was to the kids.

You inspired me watching first season, Kristen! I watched "Schlepped Away" yesterday. I really didn't like this episode when I saw it first. But after watching it a second time it really took over. I like the way they all are stuck at Sylvia's and how Fran is so comfortable at home. One really believes her that she "grew up" at that place. I like that. The funniest scene is when Niles enters the room with that shirt "Worlds Greatest Lover". lol I also thought that Brighton's "Alone at Home" scene at the end was hilarious!
