Lindsay Lohan is a great actress in the movie. She starred in her first non-Disney movie "Mean Girls" for Paramount. She recently starred in Disney's "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen".:)

We watched it in my film class yesterday and yeah it was pretty bad. We actually turned it off because none of us could take it anymore. Lindsay needs to start picking better parts. The only decent things she's done are Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap.

It looks like a great movie, but unfortanly my parents won't let me and my sisters see it because it's rated PG-13. I will be 13 on June 22, but I still think it's unfair because I think I'm mature enough to watch that movie. My parents think even a 13 year old shouldn't watch that movie.
It's just so unfair! Now I have to wait probably more than two years to watch this GREAT movie. I hate it!
Are any other parents like that?

My parents won't take me to see it because they cuss, they drink, and they have sexual content. How much did they do all that?
What sexual things did they do? I know they kiss....that's not bad. I don't really understand why I can't go see it.

I saw it saturday it was pretty good. I give it ***/****. it was really funny but i felt that the ending was just a little much. like if that actually happened, i don't think people are that forgiving. its hard to say. also the bus scene was a little much. like, when i saw that i was like 'what the heck does that have anything to do with anything?" it was funny and surprising though. i still liked it alot though. my 4th favorite movie so far this year.

and the worse thing that happened i guess was some drinking/drunk people, a few bad words & making out that would lead to sex. its hard to say if a 12 year old is old enough. im sure it is because i remember seeing some pretty mature stuff earlier than that and when i was 12 i saw Bring It On. Some parents will know if you're ready or not. I remember at 13 I was obsessed with American Pie & Scary Movie and those movies were pretty racy so i understand now why my parents didn't want me to see those movies (but i did anyway) but now im 16 and i can watch whatever i want. my mom took me to see the girl next door, which by the way is my favorite movie so far this year but i don't think anyone under 15 should see. its a bit much.

Wow... this movie was WAY BETTER than I expected. I thought it was going to be nothing but stupid yet funny girl catfights, but "Mean Girls" actually ends up being a film with substance, it makes a very good points from beginning to end.

Lindsay Lohan shouldn't allow this new ounce of "credibility" slip away. She should quit those dumb Disney movies she is working on... "Mean Girls" took her to another level.

I was also surprised by the PG-13 rating the movie received, at first I though it was going to be a very lenient PG-13 film, that received the rating for stupid reasons (just like "Crossroads,") but this film was BORDERLINE PG-13. If I was the one rating the movie, I would of given "Mean Girls" an R.

BTW, "Mean Girls" is definately in my top 10 list for best teen movies ever.

I know. They keep saying diffrent things.

My parents didn't want me watching "The Ring" but when me and my sisters went to my cousins house, we got to watch it because their Mom let us :)

And I wasn't really scared of that movie, but it was a little scary when the mean little girl climbed out of the TV.
But the movie said the "f" word alot, and my parents would HATE for us to hear that. But oh well, I don't cuss ever.

So my point is, I'll probably wait until it is relased, then my cousin will buy it, then I'll go to her house and we'll hopefully get to watch it.
I know it is a really long time until it comes out because it just got out in theaters 8 days ago.

That does suck. The one awesome thing about my parents is that they aren't strict about that kind of thing. I snuck into 8 Mile when I was only 11, and my parents thought it was funny. [I bought tickets for Sweet Home Alabama and went to 8 Mile instead] My parents cuss and drink when I'm around... I always grew up in a very laid back environment.

No fair! There are so many people I'm jealous of that get to watch PG 13 and R movies. You're soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky because you can go see mean girls and I can't!
You really should go see it, but if you don't want to, that's fine. It's your decision.

And I'll be 13 on June 22 and I won't even be able to watch very many PG 13 movies (including "Mean Girls") or even one R movie then.

OK, tell me if you think this is weird.
My parents say they might take me to "The Passion of Christ" some day soon (which is very viloent), and they won't let me go see "Mean Girls". Very strange, huh?

And anyone that GETS or HAS seen "Mean Girls" is very lucky! Hopefully, you realize how lucky you are.

I have reported SafteyPin to a moderator. The people on this Mean Girls board were being very rude to both of us.
The least you could have done was tell me first. I wasn't trying to offend anyone and i'm sorry if i did.

I don't blame parents from stopping their kids to see a movie. I know I would. Although I consider myself really lucky. I know the first PG-13 movie I saw on my own was Bring It On, I think I was either in 6th or 7th grade.

I'm 16 now and I can see anything I want. My mom and I saw Girl Next Door together and we both really enjoyed it (it has alot of nudity & sexual relations in it) and Back in the 7th grade my parents would let me watch American Pie & Scary Movie. In 9th grade I saw my first rated R movie in theater-Terminator 3. I grew up watching shows like Married with Children when I was like 8. or PG-13/R movies when I was young like Jurassic Park, Christmas Vacation, Terminator etc...I always was allowed to see whatever for the most part. I can definately understand how parents are.

Me, I have a great love for movies & tv and I'm definately gonna keep up with what my kids are watching. (when i have kids) I want to introduce them into movies & tv shows when I think they are old enough.

I think you're just gonna have to deal with it until you can see it. Mean Girls isn't a big movie, Back when I was 13 I was dying to see American Pie & Scary Movie (far far worse than Mean Girls) and my parents and I made an agreement to watch it together & we did. Mean Girls is a good movie but you're not gonna be missing your life. I suggest you see something PG because there are some great PG movies you probably never even seen. You're just at that age that you wanna see anything you can.

Im not allowed to watch R rated movies, my mom said I cant watch them until im like 14.

My parents dont care about TV Ratings....

but as for movies, they never really had an age when i could or couldnt watch something.
ratings never really mattered to me, R or G.... as long as its good.

Saw it yesterday; as I said in another thread, I thought that I might be a little too old to see this movie but it was actually pretty enjoyable. My wife liked it and said she could relate to some of the things that took place in the movie. Some slapstick but overall it was worth the money. The girl that played Regina George will be 28 years old later this year, so I don't feel guilty about some of my thoughts. :happyface

i can't either and i've seen every episode of south park. i've been watching it since i was 12 and i'm very proud of myself for how well i've done not letting my dad know. he caught me watching it once last year but he just told me to change the channel. which is crap because it's for people 17+ (i'll be 15 in a month) and i was allowed to watch PG-13 when i was 8. and he took me and my brother to see metallica a few months ago knowing how much they swear and use the f-word although they don't do it as much any more because they have kids now... but yeah if i cant watch south park by the time im 15 then a) thats bull crap and b) i'll continue watching it anyway.

My parents were kind of the same way. They will judge each film individually, and then determined if it was "ok" for me to watch. Most of the time they weren't too strict because they thought I was mature, the only time I remember being REALLY strict was when I wanted to go see "Pulp Fiction," but they refused to let me see it. I never had restrictions over watching PG-13 movies at all, though.

Technically, once you are 18, you can watch NC-17 movies, but I heard that theaters can easily change the age of admittance despite the ratings. Many theaters in L.A. won't allow anyone under 21 to watch "Young Adam" (which is NC-17,) and AMC theaters here were strict about "Mean Girls" (PG-13.)
