I just finished listening to Dana Plato's Howard Stern interview on my real audio player. She and Howard bonded very well, but I think that some of the callers pushed her oevr the edge.

I agree with you about the callers pushing her over the edge. I was watching the True Hollywood Story last night, it's sad that the callers were calling in and telling her she was a 'has been'.

It was kind of ironic that she had the drug overdose the next day...does make you wonder.

Here's what some of the people said:

"Dana, how are you and your lesbian lover"
"I don't belive you"
"I'd like a date with you"
"I watched your show everyday"
"Didn't you have sex with that black guy"?

You're right. There are a lot of stupid people in the world and she did not deserve to die. I don't even think she was ready for the humilation and embarrassement which is very sad.

But what I don't get, is that when her mother who adopted her died, and she had troubles in her life, why didn't people like Conrad Bain or other people who knew her personally, help her out. I know that Wayne Newton bailed her out of jail, which was very kind of him, but she did not know him. So it seems like she had nobody else to help her or guide her. Not even her ex-husband.

Go to the Sitcoms Online Dana Plato Memorial Site, and click on interviews on the bar, on the left. Scroll down until you find the Howard Stern one. You can actually listen to it.

That is just how society works. I bet the people that were calling in and saying negative stuff towards Dana, don't feel bad at all about it. People just don't care about other people's feelings.

Let's face it you wallow with the pigs you'll gonna get dirty. And Stern is not very edifying to me; he's more like Jerry Springer. Dana should have been better advised not to go to that interview ill prepared in fact IMO not at all.

That being said though, where were the ministers, friends or what have you that could have helped her. Like an earlier post mentioned Conrad Bain for example. I can only say that I do believe she's in heaven today. Amen.

Don't assume that no one tried to help Dana. I know that some people did.

She was just a drug addict. Let her be an example to everyone - a bad example. DRUGS KILL.

I agree that the callers were cruel and insensitive people...but what do you expect from people who listen to HOWARD STERN for crying out loud?? Dana Plato should have known better so I don't think I can feel sorry for her when Howard is such a vile human being that anyone going on his show needs his/her head examined.
