Ags2000 10-02-2001, 02:19 PM I had no problems reading it earlier today, but now it is not there. I had already downloaded the journal so I'll post it here.

I took Steve out for a birthday lunch today, even though his actual birthday isn't until next Tuesday. I had to carpe the diem since Grandmother has the kids at the Baseball Hall of Fame and I had the morning off. We had a fabulous meal at the top of the CN Tower at the 360 restaurant that revolves around the tower granting spectacular views with every course. Steve loves that kind of thing and it was very memorable.
But not quite as memorable as the cab ride back to the hotel. This cabbie drove like every movie you've ever seen with the out-of-control speeding taxi. I felt like I was on a roller coaster. Steve was ready to return to the chiropractor. We were alternating between cracking up in the backseat and holding on for dear life. What a ride!
I spent the afternoon working on a surprise gift for the cast. I'm not even going to tell you about it until right before I give it to them on Friday. I think they are going to love it and I can't wait to show it to you. But I have tons of work ahead of me if I'm going to get them all finished in time.
We are filming the driving scenes tonight. Can you believe they are letting me drive the limousine? I told them, "Hey, I drive a 40-foot Allegro Bus, I can handle this scrawny thing." Don't tell anyone but I am wearing Blair's fancy clothes on the upper-half of my body but I'm wearing my sweat pants and sneakers on the bottom. I figure that nobody will know the difference and I will certainly be more comfortable all night.
I'm writing this in my trailer while Larry, the director of photography, is setting up the shot. Let me tell you about his job. He is in charge of the overall look of the film and he is head of three different departments: grip, electric and camera.
The electric department consists of the gaffer, who is the head electrician, and the best boy, who is the 2nd. After Larry, the D.P., gives them the lighting plan, they are in charge of setting up all of the lights.
Next, the Key grip enters the picture. He and his best boy are responsible for cutting the lights. That means they add shades, filters, and sometimes plain, ordinary duct tape to add nuances to the lights so they aren't so harsh.
When I think of the D.P., I think of cameras. He, along with the director, is responsible for choosing the camera angles, lens choices and coverage shots. When a Steady Cam, or handheld camera, is chosen then Larry usually operates it himself. Otherwise, David, the head operator mans the camera.
Jimmy, the focus puller, is another important member of the camera team. He uses a measuring tape to determine the distance from the camera to the actors and keeps the shot in focus when the camera shifts positions or pans in or out.
Oops, Jenna is knocking on my trailer door; they are ready for me on the set. I'm ready for my close-up!
Hope this helps until the site is back up.

Jo: I am ready for a good old fashion rank out session.
Nat: We rank out, don’t we Tootie?
Tootie: We are SO rank.
Jo: Oh yeah, well try this. You are so dumb, you can’t spell I.Q.
Blair: (Just walking into the room) All set!
Jo: And you’re so spoiled, if you were milk, the date on the carton would read B.C.
Blair: Turn Blue!
Jo: See, turn blue, and that was her best shot.
