I had told everyone that things were pretty stressful in my family and asked you all to remember me in your prayers. Freddie's Family is the greatest. I wanted to give you an update and say thank you all for remembering me.
My son is in the Army, as many of you know. He just completed his basic and technical training, but was unable to stand at graduation last week because he still missed passing his monthly Physical Test. This is a requirement for graduation. He has had a series of minor medical problems, mostly a sprained ankle and respiratory infections, that have kept him from passing the past several of these PT's. It has been disheartening and the drill sgts have even been threatening him with a medical discharge (which a lot of military people tell me is just a threat, since neither of his conditions would qualify) which has lowered his moral even more. It has been a rough few of months for us. But he finally passed the PT test this morning. We are rejoicing with his achievement. He will be stationed at Fort Wachuga out in Arizona for possibly the next two years. He is excited about this assignment. His tech field is Multimedia Illustrator, or the fighting Crayola's as they unaffectionately call themselves (actually they hate this title! LOL) The training he has received and the work he will be doing in the Signal Corps will help him toward his dream of working for Marvel Comics one day, he hopes. There is always the possibility of deployment to a combat zone, as there is with anyone in the army these days, but he is not high on the deployment list. So keep praying for that as well. It is my hope and prayer that all our troops will be able to come home soon, and that there would be an end to this war and all wars. patriot:
Have a great Freddie day. I am sooo thankful to Freddie for bringing such a great group of people together and I am proud to call you all my friends.
