Last night I ran across my copy of the episode "Ben?Her?" that I had taped from an original broadcast airing. I was curious to compare the original one hour broadcast version to the two-part version on the Season Two DVD set. I was surprised to see in the last scene of Part 1 on the DVD set, there was a portion that was cut out. On the DVD, Will and Jack are talking in Will's law office and the dialogue goes like this:
Will: But Jack, you've got to be more reasonable in your demands.
Jack: I-I know it was a little excessive, but then just get me enough for the essentials, okay, like food, clothing, and bikini waxes.
On the original broadcast version, the dialogue goes like this:
Will: But Jack, you've got to be more reasonable in your demands. You can't, for instance, ask for all of Karen's camisoles. Why do you want them anyway?
Jack: For Halloween. Me and twelve of my gym buddies want to go as an East-side brothel.
Will: And you'll never get this amount of money.
Jack: Well, I-I know it was a little excessive, but then just get me enough for the essentials, okay, like food, clothing, and bikini waxes.
I wonder what other cuts there are on the set? I guess this is why the set was promoted as "Season Two" and not "The Complete 2nd Season." I'm majorly disappointed. I was going to tape over my original broadcast airings that I have, but I guess I won't now.
