does any one remember that HORRIBLE reunion movie that CBS made about 92 or 93?
The other night, one of our local stations showed it again. I remember when it first aired on CBS, it was so AWFUL that I had to turn it off after 10 or 15 minutes.
Anyway, the other night I was channel surfing when I came across it on a local station, so I decided to leave it on for about 10 minutes. Know what? It was STILL pretty bad, and I again ended up turning it off!!


I remember when it first aired, I read in the newspaper that it was "the worst TV movie of the year" and it's not hard to see why they said that!!

I've never seen it and probably never will. I've never been a fan of reunion movies, remakes, or those new behind the camera movies! They just don't ever seem to turn out good. At least that's what I've heard from fans of a lot of these series that did reunion movies. Although I do have to say that I'm going to watch the upcoming Dick Van Dyke Show reunion. I just love that show so much that I have to give it a try! I'm hoping they can break the mold and that it will actually be good.

yea, I'm not a fan of those either, as they mostly don't turn out good. ("the Return of THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" from 1981 is a good example) but I also plan to watch the Dick Van Dyke movie, as that one sounds like it'll be good (unlike that AWFUL cartoon that TV LAND showed!)

I've never seen it, but I heard it was pretty bad. All I heard was something about Eb getting married to some ugly chick and having babies every five minutes, then something about Mr. Haney being some kind of evil villain. That right there is why I won't watch it, b/c I mean Mr. Haney never was EVIL. Sure he was bad sometimes, and he DID come up with some pretty good schemes every once in a while (think Haney's New Image or The Cow Killer), but never anything drastically inhumane. I hate reunion shows anyway, it seems like the guys in charge of writing the scripts never ever watched the original show or something.

"Return to Green Acres" &"The return of THE BEVERLY HILLBILIES" should be textbook examples of why you shouldn't make a reunion of some shows.

Altthough, in the 1988 book "The Beverrly Hillbilies" Paul Henning (creator of the show and writer of the reunion movie) says when he wrote the script, he was on medication, and it had an unfortunate side effect of deppresion. Him and the rest of the cast knew the movie was ppretty bad when they readdd the script, but they couldn't do anything because there was a writers strike in Hollywood at the time, aand it was to late to bacck down from making the movie.

The Green Acres reunion movie, 'RETURN TO GREEN ACRES" originally aired on CBS on May 18, 1990. Although I had heard that it was terrible, I kind of liked it.

The original sets were torn down after the show had ended, and it was filmed on location in both New York City and in a rural area located north of Los Angeles.

At the time the movie was made, both the actors who played Fred and Doris Ziffel had passed away (just as they did in the movie, and they left the farm to their niece, Daisy). Eb did get married, but not to Darlene. Also, Eddie Albert was a widower and Eva Gabor was still going out with Merv Griffin.

There were some references to Donald Trump and the rock group Guns and Roses in this movie.

I saw the movie and I don't recall Oliver being a widower. They travel to NY for a contractor wants to tear down houses in Hootervile . As I recall a relative of someone helped them out getting an attorney.

Ok I read it wrong but thanks for gently telling me. I did read Eddie's wife was name Margo and she was in the movie Lost Horizons. I guess they only had one son and she died quite a while ago.
