I've been noticing some things lately, and I really don't like them.

We have Lucy fans. And that's great. And we have Desi fans. And that's great too. Problem is, lately, it doesn't seem like we can all cohabitate and still be cheerful and non-offensive.

So I'm putting in a little rule. No more Lucy is better than Desi fights, and vice versa. Debates are good...but when people start attacking each other, then it's too much. Disagree all you want...but no name calling or anything similar or I'll close the topic.

We all have a love for this show and these people...let's all appreciate others opinions.

And I am going to leave this open if you'd like to comment with concerns...or criticisms.

I agree Cathy, thanks. There's no need for all that fighting. Name-call and voice your opinion all you want, you're not going to change my views on Desi and vice versa.

I love and admire both Desi and Lucy. I just love Desi more and in different ways. :loveya: :D

Yeah...I'm probably not going to post here for a while...I'm going to look elsewhere because there is way too much drama here sometimes. No offense. But I know that I stand behind Lucy 100%, so therefore I would defend her until the day I die. Afterall, she made me laugh for like a decade now and is my all time favorite celebrity, actress, comedian, icon or whatever you want to call it and I have alot of opinions about alot of stuff that is dicussed here, but I'm afraid to post sometimes, afraid that someone is just going to jump all over my opinion and attack my favorite celebrity! But, I do anyways because like I said I definately will always defend Lucy.

I mean why can't people just reply saying "I disagree because....or I completely agree...." instead of insulting my favorite icon by calling her/implying that she is a cold, heartless, unloving b****, or whatever some of you are implying because that is when I get pissed and try to defend her with the best I've got. I mean I might sound a little bit dumb here, but I want to go to like Lucy Lounge or something where there seems to be a little more respect for Lucy. I realized sitting here sometimes reading the posts that somethings are so absurd and just put me in a pissy mood...

I mean all of you here seem like great people and afterall we all have something in common, we all know that our favorite tv was the best sitcom ever made and I Love Lucy is the best show ever ;) but I want to wait until it cools off hear a little bit! But that doesn't mean I'm not going to come back here and see whats up and if I see something I disagree with or agree with, I definately will voice my opinion!

If I said everything I think about alot of the subjects mentionned here I would be typing for like 3 straight days....LOL and I do have alot of reasons why I feel and think the way I do about certain things. Why dont I post them then???? Because like I said no one cares everyone has their own opinion about something and I just have this crazy idea that Lucille Ball "suffers in the translation" because someone always has something mean to say about her. I dunno...I'm just really frustrated. Sorry for rambling. Cya Later!

Some people have to see that no matter how much we may love Lucy or Desi BOTH were imperfect and had a ton of mistakes made in their lifetime. Just because we are 'so called fans' we don't need to be blinded by it and put them in an altar to workship. Since this is an OPEN discussion board and we are ADULTS ; we can discuss our different view points and opinions without the need of harrasment, put down, name calling or plain offense. Many people think that I may be a one-sided Desi workshipper but that's not a fact ; I just think that as imperfect as he was Lucy was too and that Lucy's problems go much deeper than the Pacific Ocean ;and that I just have the same right as everyone else in this forum to state my opinion in a respectful manner and be respected because of it. My family, social status, income, gender or any other unrelated matters don't need to be brought up in this message board since it's not made with that purpose. The day I want to discuss this issues I will open my own msg board to vent them out. I don't think I need to hold back my opinions or view points just because others disagree. I will appreciate if the harrasment stopped

I guess this whole ugly mess is my fault---I started the topic. Sorry you guys--I only wanted to see whateveryone else thought about why they stayed together for so long. I guess I shoulda just kept on wondering. If anyone leaves I am truly sorry :(

I love Lucille Ball, but I certainly do not think that she was perfect or a goddess. ;) Anyway, let's not start a whole other fight here. :)

Sometimes things get taken too far, but I'm sure that's because Lucy and Desi are people that fans feel passionately about. But I definitely agree that people's feelings should be taken into account and everyone's opinion should be respected, because there's so such thing as a wrong opinion. :)

It's not your fault or your topic's fault. This has been going on for awhile. Don't feel bad.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone or pissed you off, but when I wrote that other post earrlier on this thread I was kinda mad after reading that other thread...but that is how I truly feel, I will stay here definately (I was just heated when I said I was going to leave!) and MagsLovesLucy, I am going to post at Lucy Lounge, too once I register which I will do soon! And Crazyredhead...I don't think I ever "bashed" Desi, I don't feel that I've ever said anything mean about him on this board. Well anyway let's get posting! Just the other night I noticed that we are only 23 threads behind the "Leave it to Beaver" board. But we have wayy more posts! Sorry I can get competitive at times! ;)

Well the way I see it, It is pretty hard to Love Lucy and not like Desi too. Any fan would know they were DEEP for eachother. I don't care if he cheated or she bitched all the time. They were madly in love with each other. Anyone who knew them personally would tell you that. Desi never felt the way about Edie the way he felt for Lucy, and Lucy did not feel about Gary the way she felt about Desi....never in a million years. When Desi passed away in 1986, part of her died with him. The divorce devastated them both. Their last words to eachother were I love you. Unfortunately they couldn't live together. Both had irreconilable differences. But it still did not change their undying love for eachother. However now that I think about it, I think both had ONE thing in comon, well besides sex and love, both were stubborn as hell.

I never said that I dodn't like Desi, I'm just a really big Lucille Ball fan, though.
