View Full Version : Actors who have co-starred together in more than one
PanamaMike 04-15-2004, 05:53 PM Hollywood is full of actors who seem to appear on almost every show on the air, but how many can you think of who have worked together in lead roles on more than one series?
Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad spent 8 seasons on The Cosby Show and later re-teamed for Cosby.
Scott Baio, Lynda Goodfriend and Pat Morita...at some point all were regulars on Happy Days yet during early 77 they co-starred on Blansky's Beauties.
Baio, Goodfriend and Caren Kaye also moved together from Blansky's Beauties to Who's Watching The Kids in the fall of 78
Guest appearances and spin-offs don't count..example - Meredith Baxter appearing on Spin City as Mike's mother, or most of The Golden Girls moving into The Golden Palace.
And no..the shows don't all have to be sitcoms.
How many can we come up with?
Bea Arthur and Rue McClannahan starred as "Maude" and her best friend Vivian from 1972-1978, then played two of "The Golden Girls," Dorothy and Blanche, from 1985-1992.
Rue and Betty White played Fran and Ellen, respectively, during the 1983-1985 run of "Mama's Family," and both moved on to TGG the following season.
Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance did "I Love Lucy" from 1951-1957 then "The Lucy Show" from 1962-1966.

dawsongirl 04-15-2004, 10:29 PM A TV Show and a TV Movie don't count, do they?
spunkygirl 04-15-2004, 10:41 PM Isabel Sanford and Sherman Hemsley. I hardly see one without the other anymore, I think they're cute together :) I seen an Old Navy commercial with them in it recently, they were in the Jeffersons, they guest starred on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of superman together, and I think a few other things.

So this would violate the No Spin-off rule.

And guest starring on Lois And Clark is not being a series regular.
Mr. Television 04-16-2004, 12:58 AM Michael Landon and Victor French co-starred on Little House On The Praire and Highway To Heaven.

Lucille Ball and Gale Gordon. The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, and Life with Lucy.

I can't think of any more. You all pretty much already mentioned what I was going to mention :)
PanamaMike 04-16-2004, 01:24 PM Here's a few more I thought of.
Heather Locklear & Alan Ruck - Going Places, Spin City
Stephen Eckholdt & Lynn Clark - Grapevine, The Monroes
Dick Van Dyke & Barry Van Dyke - The Van Dyke Show, Diagnosis Murder
Mark Harmon & Cynthia Sikes - Flamingo Road, St. Elsewhere
Hank Azaria & Yeardley Smith - Herman's Head, The Simpsons

It should count, acting together, is still acting together no matter what they do together :)
PanamaMike 04-25-2004, 01:53 PM DWEEBS (1995) - Farrah Forke & Stephen Tobolowsky. A year later they were co-starring on MR. RHODES.
THE BUILDING (1993) - Bonnie Hunt, Holly Wortell, Tom Virtue and Don Lake.
All four reteamed in 1995 for THE BONNIE HUNT SHOW.
Hunt, Wortell and Mark Derwin were back together in 2002 for
LIFE WITH BONNIE.
SECOND CHANCES (1993) - Jennifer Lopez and Pepe Serna played daughter and father. In early 1994 they both were cast members on HOTEL MALIBU, continuing on as the same characters.
Debi Mazar & Alan Rosenberg - After CIVIL WARS (1991) ended, both moved (in character) to L.A. LAW
