I saw an ad for a show on Comedy Central for 8 pm and 9 pm tonight called The 100 Greatest Standups Of All Time. OMG I was thinking will Freddie be on????

Well I went to the website (like I usually do for these countdown shows, I hate being left in suspense) ...

http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_shows/100greatest/index.jhtml?_requestid=115043

... I found out that they only have the list up for 100 to 81 and 80-61 and Freddie isn't on there. I am guessing that they are only running 20 an hour, sorta like VH1 does with its countdowns. I dunno when we will find out about the next sets of 20, but if anyone can find out, LET ME KNOW!!!!!! I HATE THE SUSPENSE!!!!!

You know that if I find out what hour he will be on, if at all (Bite my tongue, slap my mind, etc.... HE HAS TO BE ON!!!!) I will be taping it!!!!

HELP!!!!! Anyone???????

(AND of course, it has already been on everynight this week so far.... so anyone?!?!?!)(I just went back and checked.....)

Lucky, I just checked the list -- Freddie will be number 49.

I just watched the show and Geri you were right, Freddie was #49. They didn't spend much time on any one comedian as they were trying to get them all in...but they did good by our main man. He was the youngest comedian on the list..and they even said that was quite something and if Freddie would have lived he would have went places without a doubt. But we all here know that. I just think it's wonderful that he was recognized after all this time..and at 22 years old was blowing the socks off from even today's talent.

Thank you ladies. I have been away for the past 4 days and had limited access to a computer. I am so elated that he made the list and even in the top half of the list. I agree with the people who put this together, he would have gone really far if he had stuck around. He had the talent.

I can't wait to watch it, even if it is a small clip. I don't mind, I will take all the Freddie I can get these days. He was a pioneer in standup in another way that I don't know if they would mention. He was one of the first to host a comedy special on the fledgling cable network Home Box Office. Quite a feat for one so young. I wish HBO would make a copy of "Freddie and Friends" available on DVD. Maybe we could write them with our request???

Freddie paved the way for comics like Paul Rodriguez......

I'm hoping that Paul Rodriguez remembers our Freddie...........

When will this be on tv? I need to know so I can get Mikes cousin to tape it for me. What kind of pics of him did they show in it? Curious to know... :) He should've been higher than #49...

The first thing I thought of when I saw he was on the list was, yay, he totally deserves it. And then I thought the same thing as Cheryl Harrell, why 49th?!? Yet, after all these years, being forty ninth is actually quite amazing. As he was. So so so glad he is still being recognized.

Sandra

p.s. will be going to John Edward the psychic t.v. guy who claims to be able to contact people who have passed. Please ask Freddie to talk to me, tell him to tell us that he knows about our sites for him, and how he feels about them... I am not really a believer, yet want to. I am hoping the more who ask him to come to talk to me, the better a chance we/I have.

Thanks!

Well I finally got to see the countdown show with Freddie on it, and I must say I enjoyed what they had to say about him. Made me realize what it was that made me fall in love with this man all over again! Mmmmm! :happyface

I just wish we could get some of these companies to release more of his stuff on DVD. I was telling my daughter, he was a very prolific person for the three years he was in Hollywood.

I know all 5 episodes are running back to back sometime during the day on Saturday.... I will have to check my dish guide when I get home. Freddie is in the third episode. I am going away this weekend so I wanted to get them as they aired this week. I wanted all five episodes cause there are a lot of comedians I like!
