I have been having trouble today trying to even get around the boards. Almost every time I get on here, all I get is the what you see attached to this post. Even trying to post this topic was a chore because for the most part only the advertisement would load. This has been going on since I updated my computer earlier today. Can anyone help?

WOW
Well im no computer expert, but try to hit ctrl+alt+delete and see what programs you have running in the back ground. Shut down all the programs that you don't need. That will help speed up what you are using. ;)

Have you tried adaware? It can eliminate all the spyware crap that builds up on your computer just from visiting a few sites. I use it everyday :)

ok.... my hubby says...

When did you first start having this problem with your computer?

then go to "find files" do an advanced search...

search for 'application' data in "C" drive around the time that you think you got this virus. Delete the file that was "created" not "modified" remember it will be a document file.

(warning: don't delete a "sys" file)

hope it helps.

Doesn't sound like a spyware problem - it's probably SO loading pretty slowly. Just click on the address in the address bar and hit "Enter" -- that'll cause IE to reload the page a lot more quickly this time around. I have that problem sometimes.

WHAT did you update?

i would try cleaning out your temorary files and internet cache, restart and try to log-in again, if the problem is still there use System Restore to go back before you did the update...

Can anyone help? i think i found out what it is Brian - MS had a problem with one of the Critical Updates released in the past week that will make it randomly "lose" the connection when you try to access webpages

go to www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and get the fix

I am about sick and tired of Windows. Constant updates, patches, and fixes. It's so annoying.

Windows got me all:mad: too. Everytime I try to do an update it gets all mixed up, it takes forever to download it and I can't run anything else while Windows takes it's sweet time. I guess I'll update before I go to bed:D

I do automatic updates, and it works in the background while I work -- I'm on a 512MB RAM, 40GB, 2.3GHz computer, connected to cable...Yep, I got mine in December 2003...I'm good so far when I update. I occasionally go to Start > Windows Update to check for any other updates that I need that it doesn't inform me of.
