There were no other characters his age and he just didn't fit on the show. Who's idea was it too add him? Atleast if the Ropers had a little kid living with them the David character would have made more sense.

Their neighbors had a son, also. Anyway, I liked little Evan. They actually gave the kid some good lines in the episodes I have seen recently, and he did well with them.
