I don't know evn know why he paid for the date if they were just friends. At the end Jack told her that her Half of the bill comes to $33.82

Since they were friends, they should have both conbtribued to the bill.

Well, that's what they did. If he told her what her half of the bill was, then they went dutch (each paid for their own).

No when ack told Janet the amount of her half of the bill, she slammed the door in his face which means he paid for the entire date.

Oh, that's right. That's what he wanted to do was go dutch, but it didn't work out. :D
