Personally, I think the man is absolutely nuts. Yeah, an occasional gamble, in small scale, isn't that harmful. But to bet one's entire net worth on a 50/50 coin toss....Well, I think it's absolutely absurd.
But, the reason I post a poll is to wonder...if you WERE in his shoes, which would you place all $75,000-ish on. Red or Black?
And for my own answer to the question: If I WERE in his shoes...$75K on Red.
Rhiannon 04-10-2004, 11:19 PM arr....BLACK!
AtlantaBravesFan29 04-10-2004, 11:22 PM Man,he is going to be in big trouble if he loses. I wouldn't even bet that much if at all.
Chelsea 04-10-2004, 11:31 PM Correction from the article: The man is actually placing approx $138,000 on it. The 75,000-ish is actually his worth in British Pounds
AtlantaBravesFan29 04-10-2004, 11:41 PM So it's $276,000 or bust. If he doubles his bet he'll get $276,000.
Janice 04-10-2004, 11:48 PM I'm not a gambler, so I think he's crazy to take that chance with his life savings.

dandelion wine 04-11-2004, 02:22 AM Sure hope he wins. Anyway, I'd bet on black.
Dutabi84 04-11-2004, 02:32 AM Black. There's actually a slight better chance that the ball will end up on black than red. You see, light emits a negative magnetic effect that would push away the ball (albeit slight), giving a fraction of a percent of odds to black. Since we all know black is the absence of light, this must be true...just kidding, I made all that up. I'm bored.

I was going to say that. That man also thought he would have been worth at least £100,000, but he wasn't. Go figure.
dawsongirl 04-11-2004, 03:53 AM If I were in his shoes....I'd take them off and put my own on. Then I'd take my money and put it back in the bank.
