Did any of you know that the original ending was not the one with Wally and Beaver walking home, but it was actually just a gray screen with white writing as the credits? It was used in the first season, and it was supposed to look like wet cement.

When I saw it while watching a while ago, I thought that it was different and nice, and I didn't recognize it as the original. Why was it replaced? What do you think of it?

It was probably replaced in the second season when the opening wet cement sequence from the first season was also scrapped. I thought the original closing was rather plain.

I liked it, but not as much as the ones where they are walking home. After seing the one where they walk home, the gray cement (opening and ending scenes) was different, and a nice alternative. I would get sick of it if I had to see it every day, though.

Interesting! I never knew that they had originally intended to use the same motiff for the ending as in the opening.

My mother hates the cement opening and endings. They seem very old fashioned.
