It's a Boy for Messing

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "Will & Grace" star Debra Messing and husband Daniel Zelman are the proud parents of a baby boy.
According to Extra, Messing's child was born on Wednesday (April 7) morning and weighed in at a petite 5 lbs, 14 oz. The couple is described, naturally enough, as "thrilled," with their "healthy, beautiful" child.

This is the first baby for the couple, who met while students at New York University and dated for many years before marrying in 2000.


Messing, who won her first Emmy in 2003 for her performance as the titular Grace on the popular NBC comedy, worked around her pregnancy for much of the season. Funny camera angles, loose-fitting costumes and a minimum of physical activity were substituted for having Messing's character become pregnant as well.
Last week it was reported that doctors ordered the actress to be off her feet for the remainder of the season and that Messing would miss the final four episodes of the "Will & Grace" including the season finale, which will feature Jennifer Lopez.

The baby weighed 5 pounds and 14 ounces and was 19 inches long, publicist Annett Wolf said Thursday. It's the first child for Messing and her husband, screenwriter Daniel Zelman.

Messing, 35, was unable to appear in this season's final four episodes of "Will & Grace." She stars opposite Eric McCormack in the show about a straight woman and her gay best friend.

Last week, NBC announced that Messing's doctor had asked her to stay off her feet for the remainder of her pregnancy, which led to her absence from the season's final installments.

Wolf said Messing would return in the summer in time to start shooting episodes for next season.

I do think it'll be weird without Grace at the end of the season, though, but I can understand why.
