When they had the Gilligan-type ep Laurie played Gilligan (!). No fair! Gilligan is a boy's role. Laurie, if you can read this, you're all very pretty girl.

She did good though. She's nervous and fidgity like Gilligan.

Laurie Metcalf is a great actress. Hey she has 3 EMMY Awards to prove it all from Roseanne. :)

She is rather boyish...

Don't get me wrong b/c Laurie is an attractive women but, sometimes she reminds me of Barney Fife. When she makes her eyes bulge out and when she puffs up her chest and acts like she is important!lol:lol:

I thought that this thread was going to be about her deleted coda in which she is seen polishing her emmy. She was the first of the cast to recieve one. I don't know if it's true or not but I've heard that Roseanne was jealous and that's why it was edited out. I truely feel sorry for her about that, but not about the Gilligan thing. She made a GREAT Gilligan. I also liked Mark as the professor. He finally had a smart role. lol. "Well, we don't have the technology to fix the hole in this boat but I'll go out and gather some vines and coconuts and make radios and houses!" Okay, that wasn't the exact quote, but it was something like that. Then they had every natural disaster that ever happend to Gilligan and gang happen right away when they arrived. LOL.

I didn't know about the Emmy polishing thing. That is too bad. Roseanne probably was jealous.

Doesnt Roseanne say that Jackie looks like Barney Fife in an episode?

BTW, I also thought that Bob Denver (Gilligan) made a GREAT Jackie! It was so funny him coming in dressed and acting the way Jackie does in the end of the episode. LOL.

I think she did. I vaguely remember it. I think it was when Jackie was a cop.

Bob did make a good Jackie. That was such a funny episode.:D

I think Laurie Metcalf has a similar physical comedic timing as John Ritter did. Both hilarious.

Ms. Metcalf also did an excellent job in the movie JFK. She played Kevin Costner's secretary---a southern accent sounds good on her.
