I know this has nothign to do with teh facts of life.. but i will make it... I am sorry to those of you who have lost love ones or who have been astonished with the thought... my sympathy goes out to you.. but please pray for the good health of all.. and DO remember that the FOL crew is "trapped" in toronto canada! As of this afternoon they closed down all boarders and access to cross... Feel sorry for Kim, Mindy, and Charlotte who cannot see their families at a hard time like this.. feel sorry for everyone doing the filming who cannot see their families.. pray that EVERYONE is in good health.. i truely hope that nobody on this board was "killed" in today's tragidy... but please do keep a calm head if we do head into war... i know that it is hard to keep calm but always remember how mrs. garrett would calm you down, or how jo's witty attitude would certainly "bring things down" and how natalie woudl make the frown into a smile, and how tootie woudl dassle you with her inteligent acting skills, and last but not least how blair would be thinking only about fasion and money... Y'all, remeber, it's not just your dads/brothers that'd get drafted, it's some of your fellow boardmates. I can think of a few of us guys here who'd get drafted immediately, or as soon as the turn 18/graduate H.S., whichever comes first.

And there are the others, like me, brett ferino, others, who, in a few years, if it lasted that long, who would get drafted.

And then there's the ones who go volutarily.

(Note: I just turned 15. So y'all are stuck with me for 3 more years....)

I'm not Max, but I can answer it. Yes the draft is still there, but it has not been used in years. If something were to happen and more people are needed, they will first call up all the reserves. After that, they will recall recent retirees. Then if they still need people, they will institute the draft.

I am also hearing that if things get desperate enough, they can draft females too. Can you confirm this, Ags2000?

I send my condolences out to everyone who has lost a loved one, or has a loved one near that area and are not sure about their well being. I'm very sorry. I would also like to add that, as i understand but i'm not sure about the facts, Lisa Whelchel's son Tucker was put on a plane Monday I think to go to California to visit back to his house. If this is true then none of Lisa's family will be able to go and stay with him at this moment until all airports open back up. Lisa Whelchel hasn't updated her journal, which is probably the last thing on her mind right now, so if anyone has any news about this please tell me. Again I'm very sorry for those who have died and I hope we catch the sick people who had planned to take innocent lives.

If you feel helpless, there is something to do about it. If you are of age, DONATE BLOOD!!! If you are not, then ask your parents, teachers, older siblings... anyone you know to help the cause. NYC and DC are under extreme medical pressure. Since planes are grounded, there is no "quick" way to get medical supplies to the east coast.

They have been looking into this for several years about opening selective services to females. As of yet they have not done it. The military still has reserves about sending females into combat and since the draft is mostly used for the army and marines, I don't see it happening, but stranger things have happened. As I said, I would join up in a microsecond.

Ditto to not being too worried about war. Although a slight possibility, we have very capable leaders and a vast military force to protect us should war happen. I highly doubt we will go to war, as there is no real nation to go to war against. A war on terrorism is the war we'll be fighting instead.

If u listened to the president last nite he told america that we will not harbor those who support this...that means that any country that holds, hides, supports terrorists will be treated as the country who did this to us. There are many countries that do so...we will not only declare war on Afganistan, but also all of those other countries.....that is of course if we go to war.

If the cities you mentioned get bombed, I'm pretty sure that the state "Michigan"
would be on the "Top 10 List" for being

Okay, let me get this straight! You want
us to forgive them, correct? We should forgive them for killing almost 50,000 people or even more, we should forgive them for destroying the World Trade Center, we should forgive them for attacking the Pentagon, we should forgive
them for hijacking 4 planes and killing
the passengers on those planes. Is that

This one really got to me.Anyway, God will punish them, everyone is judged by God.Also, just because they aren't dead doesn't mean they can't be punished.God has control over everything that happens in everyone's life.HE could make it a living Hell right here on Earth for whoever did it, if he wanted to punish them, but God doesn't want to punish them here.He wants to forgive them.He will forgive them, if they get saved.If someone went over there to afghanistan and witnessed to them and told them, that God can save all their sins all they have to do is accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and ask God to forgive them, and really mean it.I mean, God wants to forgive them, why can't we? I don't think the US will go to war with Afganistain if it was just Osmah Bin Ladin and his followers just did it. BUT if it was a state supported act (governments leaders paid money towards the act or had any knowledge), there's probably gonna be a war against the country of Afgainistan and other countries involved. Being half American, that scares me. But if my country needs me, they'll have me.

Also, you know how the pilots who crashed the plane had Egyptian passports? I'm supposed to be going to Egypt this summer. I won't be going if there is a war.

Okay, I read your message and I have a few questions. When you wrote and I quote

know for a fact that God wants to forgive them? How do you really know? Did God
speak with you and tell you that he wants

I agree with Angel676. I don't want a war. They never really help anythiny. Then more people we know may die and for what. Stupid terrorists who hate America. There may be 10 or something countries that hate us but we have the support of many others. If they were countries that could take us over I'd see the point of a war but there's no way those people who hate us could win without a miracle or some trick. I don't know if they draft gir;s into service yet but I have guy friends who are at the age now or are going to be soon, to be drafted, plus I have an older brother but I don't really know how this drafting stuff works. I ove America but I don't want to lose people I love for a stupid group that was on a suicide mission. I think all this talk of God got out of hand. Forgiving doesn't mean that we're saying what those stupid people did wasn't bad. Forgiving is just a way to not let what they did consume you with hate. It works for some people. Cause like other people said, those terrorists dont give a damn what any of us think. I hate them for what they did too, but while it's really easy for me to say they should burn on earth and in hell, I know that I don't have the power to do that. I'm going to leave that to someone who is higher than me, because I do trust in God and I think those stupid people will get what they deserve. I just hope that all my family, friends and fellow boardmembers will be okay and make it through all our individual scares, sadness and anger. We're all, meaning everyone here and all over America, suffering through this together. I pray everything works out and that all the FOL actors are also safe. I will remember what Mrs. Garret would say.

Ummm, all I have to say is, people need to get their facts straight. This didn't occur because these nations want to take over and rule the U.S. They want to destroy the US and it's people, not rule them. More likely, this occured because these nations object to America's support of the nation of Israel, they are upset that American culture encroaches on theirs, they want Islam to dominate, and they want to see the demise of the western world. These are not little kids that will stop if we ignore them. These are RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISTS who are willing to die for their cause. Think for a minute how strongly you all feel about your religion, about what God will do to them, etc. etc. etc. They feel just as strongly about their religion, if not more so, than you do. If we ignore them, this WILL continue, with more dire results probably. Why even just today there were reports of 10 more people arrested who were trying to board planes and do more damage, people who reportedly were supposed to do this on Tuesday, but their flights got grounded.

These are not my words, they are the words of someone I heard on the TV: someone said something to the effect of American needs to look at itself and determine why these nations harbor such hatred towards us. I am by no means siding with the terrorists, or saying that these deeds should go unpunished, but for the future, I think it would be very wise for America to take a long hard look at themselves. America is made up of and ruled by fallible human beings, and therefore everything America does is not perfect and infallible. There are complex reasons behind why this happened, and if we don't try to get to the bottom of them, they will only keep happening. And anyone who thinks America is always right and that all nations should always agree with us...I'm sorry but you're incredibly naive and need to wake up to the rest of the world.

You know what boggles my mind is, that someone could have so much belief in their God, to justify to themselves that it's okay to kill innocent people. I don't care who you are, and what you believe in, but it's a basic human moral that killing anyone is WRONG. Especially in a horrific act such as the ones displayed on Tuesday.
