I say yes without a doubt because you still see Louise and George in Commercials 29 years later and see the Huxtable couple no where. The Jeffersons defintely has to be the most memorable couple of Sitcom History.

Interesting topic.

People certainly do like seeing them in commercials as those characters. Plus they played those roles for so many years, they were like a fixture. I was thinking of the Honeymooners too and Edith and Archie and Maxwell Smart and 99 from Get Smart. People really like those pairings.

They're like the old married couples that a lot of us know in real life. One thing about the characters is that no matter how much they disagree you know that they were not going to break up. I don't recall there being any episodes where one was tempted to cheat on the other. Even All in the Family had a plot like that.

As for Cosby and Rashad, Cosby is so rich that he never has to make another commercial again and Rashad doesn't have the zany quality to appear in commercials. If they reteamed it might be for some serious public service announcement like promoting literacy or say no to drugs. When you see Weezie and George in a commercial or on some show like Fresh Prince you know it's all zany wacky fun.

I think George & Weezy are much more classic than Cliff and Claire (Im a fan of both shows, but prefer TCS)

Id much rather see a commercial with the Jeffersons than the Huxtables.
Claire Huxtable wasn't all that interesting.
She was nothing if it weren't for Cliff.

Whereas both George and Weezy were both great characters on their own -- and even better together.

Now a commercial with the Jeffersons AND the Huxtables -- that would be cool!
