I believe that Frasier has indeed found "the one" in Charlotte (Laura Linney), and I predict that the series finale will conclude with a double wedding - Martin and Ronnie, and Frasier and Charlotte! ;)

good guess. I wouldn't doubt that for a second.

Maybe...I hope not though!

The only problem I have is that it all seems rushed. They should've had her introduced maybe at the end of last season or the beginning of this season.

right, I mean Frasier is ending and this character has only been there for 2 episodes now...I don't like it....hopefully they'll throw us a curve ball......

I hope so, but I doubt it. They really seem to be pushing Charlotte as the one.

They are....No...it can't end this way! Think about it, if he ends up with Charlotte it's almost a guarantee he stays in Seattle.

I guess no Cheers happy ending

Come on though...think about who created this show.... I mean let's look at the past: They flew in Diane Chambers from California....JUST TO HAVE THEM BREAK UP AGAIN!

I always imagined that the Show would end with Frasier returning to Cheers. However, after the episode Cheerful goodbyes, I felt that was how he would wrap up his Cheers connection.

Yes, you're probably right....I still don't like the idea of him ending up with charlotte.

I agree--he's dated many women for longer than 6 episodes, and the MOST the writer's now have to actually get them together and convince us that Charlotte is different/better than anyone else Frasier's dated is 4 episodes. What makes her more perfect for him than Claire for example, who he broke up w/ out of fear? I don't know; I think they're relying on the fact that the fans will accept this b/c it's almost the end of Frasier. I feel like they would've been better to go w/ someone we already knew. That being said, I do like Charlotte's character--if we'd had more time, I'd have been really happy! :)

I like Frasier and Charlotte together.... but it shouldnt end this way.

Like Ria said.... she's no better or worse than Claire was.

I really dont want it to end with a double wedding.
Wedding finales are so cheap.

of course.

But I hate when series through together a wedding and make it a finale.
For example.... Happy Days.... Chachi just annoyed the hell out of me and I hated the fact that he was almost the complete center of attention during the finale.

well yes but in this case...Frasier is the center of attention of the show "Frasier" ...

i do like charlotte but like everyone said it's way too fast. yeah frasier should have it's own ending but cheers just has to be tied in someway. without cheers there would be no frasier.oh and wedding finales are stupid.

I agree....I can't get out of my head what Kelsey said in an interview where he said something to the extent of "I always knew how it would end" like he's known since the beginning...

wait, hold on there might be hope. Lilith comes on the next episode...they get set up in a blind date.

If it does end with a double wedding, I'd like to see it at the top of the Space Needle - maybe at the pretentious Top of the Needle restaurant, where the floor revolves and they serve cafeteria-quality food for thirty-six dollars because you pay for the view (I ought to know, I've been there) - that would really tick off Fraiser and Niles! Also, have Christopher Lloyd reprise his role as the Reverend Jim Ignatowski and perform the ceremony - a reference to Christopher Lloyd the "Frasier" producer, though they're two entirely different fellows. You know, an industry inside joke! Love those inside jokes!

Uf, I know--I love this ep and hate it at the same time. Love it cause it's Lilith and hate it b/c I don't feel like it acknowledges the profound place that she occupied/occupies in Frasier's life. Even if I were to grant that they'd never make it work (which I am in NO WAY doing), she's still the mother of his child--let's give her a bigger send off!

As much as I'd love to see it end up at Cheers, I don't think that would be right. It's Frasier's show, it should focus on his life in Seattle coming to a close. For years Grammer's had to fight for it not to be the Daphne and Niles show, let alone bring back the cast of Cheers to overshadow his character's finish.

Too often shows try to wrap up all their plot points in their finales and it comes off with a cheap and rushed feel. Whether it's a through a wedding, death or similar device, I don't feel it's necessary to do this. Over the past seasons, we've seen Frasier date many women and he himself admitted that he was truly happy with his life. I don't see the necessity to rush him off to the alter. Indeed, I'd be content with him simply continuing in his life, still searching for Miss Right, either in Seattle or elsewhere.

As for Charlotte, I think the double wedding idea is a horrible one. Now that we know Charlotte is moving to Chicago, it just wouldn't fit that Frasier move away from his home after dating someone over such a limited period of time. Now, my argument would change if Charlotte was a more established character, but as it is, if he chased her to Chicago, it would make Frasier out to be some pathetic and desparate man following his perceived last chance at happiness, when this is simply not the case.

Of course, I say this while still holding on to my desparate hope that he will get back together with Lilith, or at least for this to be hinted at in the finale.

The more I think about it, I become more content with the idea of the show ending with Frasier still in search of the perfect woman. In the S2 episode where Frasier, Daphne, Niles and Martin go on a roadtrip ending up in Canada, the idea of "the journey and not the destination is what matters" is heavy-handedly discussed. In subsequent seasons, this theme has been extremely prevalent in all of Frasier's relationships and to force/rush him in 5 episodes to commit to some woman seems extremely inconsistent.

I agree with you in the sense that to have Frasier end up with Charlotte, DOES seem inconsistent with the overall rhythm of the series. However, as a romantic *cough* ;), I would really like to see him end up with someone. I wouldn't be really upset if he ended up alone b/c I understand that it's a logical conclusion as far as the overarching narrative of the series is concerned, I just think that his 11 year search for love should be rewarded in some way. Deus ex macchina all the way! :D
