Well, I was just listening to the "Phantom Of The Opera", redone by a band called Nightwish, and the guy pronounced "opera" like "oprah", and all I thought of was that Wings episode. hahaha.

Last Saturday night the Capitol Theatre in Rome, NY (about an hour away from where I live), had a 35mm screening of Lon Chaney's classic 1925 film version of "The Phantom Of The Opera", complete with live organ accompaniment....

As I sat there in that majestic old movie palace waiting for the film to start, all I could think of was Lowell, Fay, Roy and Antonio dancing in a line singing "Phantom, Phantom, I don't believe in Phantom....."

See? "The Carol Burnett Show" isn't the ONLY TV series that can ruin a classic movie for you!

Yes it was. Actually the Capitol shows a 35mm silent feature once a month (from September - December, and April - June), with visiting theatre organists like Philip Carli and Dennis James. These guys specialize in accompanying silent films, and they're MASTERS at it. They synchronize the film's action so well (complete with sound effects from the organ) that you almost forget that you're watching a SILENT film! (And the eerie-sounding music really worked well with "Phantom"!).
