hey there i have some good news, tvland has said what they are adding in june, its kind of interesting, if you have noticed a trend, first mr ed come back, then green acers, then in june the addams family and this confirms it, the tvlink said himself, then soon filp willson, maybe before long, all the other old shows might come on tvland someday again.. its like they are going back into time lol here is the post...

You are very odd. Most viewers want 50's and 60's shows on TV Land. That's been their main complaint. They just added a 70's show a few months back, it's called The Carol Burnett Show. So don't say "no" '70s show, because, again, you are misinterpreting facts. They show Happy Days, The Brady Bunch, The Waltons, All in the Family, Sanford & Son, and The Love Boat. Clearly 70s shows...

And Flip Wilson is coming in July. Another '70s show.

I mean replacing the current 70's show with OTHER 70;'s shows. Not the ADDANS FAMILY. You got to be kiddin me.

Actually, I'm not. I'm not a big fan of the show. I did watch it some when I was little, but I don't give a rat's you-know-what if they air it.

Pavanbadal, I would have to agree with you on this one - - - SOLOMON is very odd to say the least. I haven't understood him in the past, certainly not now, and probably never will. For a guy to make an invalid argument that Good Times is not a spin-off (which in REALITY it is), I'm not surprised for the remarks he has made on this thread.

I admit that I am a little bias when it comes to the sitcoms from the 1970's, but there were a lot of GREAT sitcoms from the 50's and 60's..i.e like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Leave it to Beaver..If Tv Land only showcased sitcoms from the 1970's..Trust me, even to me, who is an avid 70's sitcom buff, would found that very very boring...I am glad that The Addams Family is returning to Tv Land

i really think that they need to add more variety and bring back more shows that havent been aired on network tv for a long time

...oh and put Happy Days on at a time when i can actually WATCH it :crazy:

I was a little dissapointed that Three's Company wasn't coming to TVland but at the same time I'm excited that The Addams Family is coming!:)

ever heard of "to each his own"?

I personally am not a 60's tv fan out there, it was before my time and outside of Bewitched, there's none I'd ever want to own on DVD. But there ARE people out there who like those shows, and I'm happy for fans of 60's tv to get some of the shows they want back on television.

Learn to respect others opinions and yours will be respected too.

I can care less about Addams Family or Green Acres, but they do have the right to be on television since there are plenty of fans out there who love those shows. It's not like we're being suffocated with those series like something such as Cosby.

We all have our personal tastes, but it's nice to try and respect that of someone else. I don't like 60's sitcoms any more than you do, but a lot of people LOVE those shows.

I like sitcoms from all decades (the 50s would have to be the worst of the 6 though)

Im not upset that The Addams Family is coming.
But I am dissappointed.

Id much rather see a 60s sitcom such as Get Smart, Petticoat Junction, or My Three Sons


Or better yet -- how about they air shows that they already have the rights to such as The Bob Newhart Show or Three's Company

Well it pisses me off that TV LAND hangs on to the shows the have aired for two years and comes back and adds something crazy like the addams Family. I have given up on TV land

I have no problems with TAF coming to TVLand, but I wish they would have picked something that is hardly ever aired, and/or something they never aired before. Like "Alice" or "One Day at a Time" or maybe even a drama such as "Family" or "Eight is Enough."

As a previous poster said, to each his own and we should respect others' opinions. However having said that, one phrase I wish would be banished from the American language is "Before my time." 50's and 60's shows were bfmt too; however, I love them with a passion. The same can be said of the music of those decades. My point, and I do have one, is that some people should not use that excuse (No, I'm not referring to the previous poster, as Archie Bunker would say "Present company suspected) to keep them from opening up their minds to older series and/or music. If this erroneous way of thinking were upheld by all, then we would no longer have the "Star Spangled Banner," Beethoven's Fifth Symphony," and "Romeo and Juliet." After all, all of the aforementioned works were 'before my/our time.' While I too love the shows/movies/music of my own childhood era(70's and 80's), I share equal love for the past and encourage others to give the past a chance too.
