today marks the 30th anniversary of when ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest (4-6-74) performing Waterloo. This win is what launched them to the stratosphere and made them one of the biggest bands of the 1970's and early 1980's until their breakup in early 1983.

If you're a rock snob, you're probably rolling your eyes, but if you're a fan of pop music, you probably agree that ABBA created some of the greatest pop music of the past 30 years. I love the THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC box set and consider it one of the treasures of my CD collection.

The members of ABBA stand firm that the past is in the past and will never perform together again, no matter the cost. While millions of ABBA fans around the world don't like that idea, can you really picture a bunch of Swede's in their mid-late 50's onstage singing some of their earlier hits now?

And Olivia deserved to lose after singing the awful song Long Live Love. Waterloo is a masterpiece in comparison

I love Abba! Have you seen "Muriel's Wedding"? This movie has a great Abba soundtrack! Here is a pic from the movie. This is Toni Colette and Rachel Griffiths dressed as the Abba girls . They sung "Waterloo" in a talent show. It was great! If you haven't seen this movie I recommend it! It's so good!:D

well, us ABBA fans did get a nice and very unexpected "gift" for the 30th anniversary of Eurovision.

Agnetha Faltskog has just released her first album since 1987's I Stand Alone. For years and years on end, Agnetha had been retired from the public eye and become a recluse, so brand new music of hers was something that we'd long counted out.

I am very excited about this, especially since it's promised to be very Abba-esque
