OK, I think Max and Fran's relationship really changed after that dance in "Kindervelt Days." IMO, that's the first time Max really thought of her as more than just "the nanny." He definitely had feelings before that, but I don't think he quite realized what they were.

I'll leave the N/CC question to someone who knows their relationship better, although "Pen Pal" of course comes to mind. ;)
