A little late with this news, Jim died April 1.

Just to clear up any confusion. David Harper, who played Jim-Bob didn't pass away, it was the person who his character was based on. It sounds like some of yall might be confused on that.

I realize that this is an old post. So your saying the original 'Jim Bob' passed away. Not the person who played Jim bob on 'The Waltons'.

Was this person in any relation to Earl Hamner? Or was this someone who just happened to have the same last name as Earl?
