View Full Version : Lisa's Journal for Sept 7
Ags2000 09-07-2001, 11:53 AM All I can say is, I was shocked, then laughing while reading the entry. You have to go and read it. It starts with Lisa announcing that she took a pregnancy test first thing in the morning.

Kim arrived and is at rehearsal now. There are pictures posted of Charlotte with Lisa's kids, Mindy with Lisa's kids, Kim with Lisa's kids, and Louis Gosset Jr with Lisa's kids. There is also a picture of Charlotte, Mindy, Kim, and Lisa.

coily2 09-07-2001, 07:07 PM Roger that to her comment on black clothing. You cannot take away black clothing from a woman over the age of 22.
DinahTheDiningCar 09-08-2001, 12:12 AM It wasn't all that that made me laugh, it was the Dr.Snip-Snip comment. In fact, it made Mr.Pibb come out of my nose.

I agree with him. They do seem like brats, especially Clancy when she cried like a baby when her mom had to work for once in her life. Does Lisa ever leave their side? And its not like they were staying with a stranger, they were staying with their own dad, so I dont see why she was such a baby about it.

Lord(shakes head and rolls eyes)I acted the same why Clancy does when I was her age I cried when my mom went somewhere without me.
Now I could careless if she gos somewhere,I
even love it when she gos somewhere,It gives
me a time to write my fanfics in peace.I do
not think that they are "Brats" they are just
acting like kids.
a NaNcY FaNaTiC 09-08-2001, 11:23 PM Lisa is a stay-at-home mom and of course the kids are gonna miss her cuz they're used to her being there. I don't think it's fair to judge her kids when we don't even know them.

Panda Bear 09-09-2001, 12:22 AM I live with my mom and grandparents. This means I was raised by a stay at home grandma. I used to go into a full blown tantrum if she left. There's still a part of me that gets antsy when she's not around. She makes me feel safe and I'm almost sixteen. I would expect it to be worse for an eight-year-old. I don't know if your mom worked, or if you were just a very confident little kid, but I wasn't so I understand Clancy's feelings. It's really scary when you've always had a safety net, and suddenly they aren't there for whatever reason. I love my mom, but she could never be my grandma; just like her dad can never be her mom as much as she may love him. I just want to say that I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything. I just had to respond because of how I've been raised this particular post hit on something that made me react deep down inside.
Sincerely,
Panda Bear

And I hate to admit this, but I'm curious. What exactly did the Dr. Snip-Snip comment mean? I have an idea, but I'm not sure. (I don't get out much, folks, have pity on me...lol)

Like Blair!
Ags2000 09-09-2001, 12:46 PM Give the kids a break. They're kids.
Clancy is just going through a phase that some kids go through. I went through that stage myself. I always wanted my mom to be at home and I would get really upset when and if she left. As I got older, I grew out of the phase.
So lets just lay off the kids ok.
D
Kay Scarpetta 09-09-2001, 04:02 PM I wasn't trying to be mean or anything I just thought that they could be a little spoiled thats all. I actually said that I thought Clancy was a brat, but like someone said before, don't judge the kids before you meet them. I'm sure they are all very nice, so I take back what I said about Clancy. I still get paranoid when my parents leave the house. I hate being home alone. But I do still think they are all spoiled in some way shape or form. I'm sorry if anyone disagrees with me, but thats just my opinion.

Devon King 09-09-2001, 06:23 PM This might be a good place to take a step back from discussions or debates about things we couldn't possibly know much about -- Lisa Whelchel's kids.
Whelchel's postings on her site are funny, often heart-felt and sincere. If you've been following her journal, you'll know that she's presenting their life on the road in honest, real-life commentary.
This is a real family (just like yours) -- and the fact that she's being so open with her fans is a gift. She doesn't have to do it.
If she's like most Moms, and she feels that her children are going to be picked apart by strangers after she posts something about them -- then she would be well within her rights to stop telling us anything.
This isn't a theoretical discussion about "is Jo cooler than Blair?" -- these are honest-to-gosh kids with feelings. (They aren't famous -- their Mom is.)
Since Whelchel is being kind enough to give us a peek into her tour, I think its only fair that we respond with kindness and respect where her children are concerned.
