Guys,

What did you all think of the marathon on TV Land?

I didn't expect to see as many of these eps as I did, but I saw about 15, and I really feel like it takes a lot of fertilizer to get that Green Acred.

No, really, I like this show. The comedy of exaggeration, insanity, misunderstanding, puns and malpropisms... essentially where crazy and bizarre is normal, and being straight and logical [read Oliver Wendell Douglas] is bizarre.

Among the scenes or stunts that I had long forgotten were Arnold the pig's inheritance and Oliver Douglas referred to in newspapers as the "famous pig lawyer," Mr. Ziffel using Lisa's hotcakes to patch his roof, and 10 farmers planning to go to Europe for the special rate of $300 start saying "Her's MY 30 dollars."

I think there is a lot of satire and symbolism to be seen in GA, although it's hard to imagine that it had any "purpose" but to laugh at such inanity.

JUST GREAT!!! FANTASTIC!!! Now, I'm going to go back over them, edit my tapes, only keep on the episodes that I really liked, and throw on some of these pop/rock music infomercials, documentaries, and specials; just like I did the last time that Green Acres was on TV Land.
