View Full Version : Where it SHOULD have ended

Does anyone else think it was a bit pointless to have Dan almost die and then one season later we find out that he did? In my opinion, Darlene and David's wedding should have been the last episode of the series; with or without Dan's heart attack. I thought it would have been a nice dramatic way to end the show.

Does anyone else have opinions as to where the show should have ended?

Well, season 8 was originally going to be the last, and from what I've heard, we were supposed to just guess for ourselves whether or not Dan survived his heart attack. But here's what I've been wondering:

HOW would the show have ended if that really was the end? Surely the whole scene with Dan's heart attack would have had to have been extended, since we didn't even know what was wrong with him until the next episode. And would I think that the 8th season probably had to put extra episodes into production for the post heart attack episodes before that went into season 9. If they just ended the series with Dan falling over off the bench asking for an ambulance that wouldn't be a good way to end it. Shows should never end on a cliff hanger. Anyway, that's what I think.

But I'm glad that they decided to go for an extra season, even though it wasn't up to par with the others before it. The 9th season, as strange and unrealistic as it was, is still something fun to watch, and the finale is really good (though extreamly emotional. Every time that I see it, I always cry, without fail, when she starts talking about Dan. And not just a few tears either, I mean REALLY crying hard!).
