View Full Version : Laverne and Shirley or Mork and Mindy? Which Happy Days spinoff did you like more?
TVFactFan 04-05-2004, 08:57 AM I have started watching both of these sitcoms in the month of March and so far Laverne and Shirley has been enjoyable. I never thought i would find squiggy so damm funny. The characters who stand out are Laverne and squiggy. The least funniest character is Shirley. Kind of like how janet wood was of Three's company. I only watched 2 eps of Mork and Mindy so far so L&S is better at this moment.
Penny Lane 04-05-2004, 09:58 AM LaVerne & Shirley. I could never quite get into Mork And Mindy.:p
barwars 04-05-2004, 03:11 PM I like both series.
Even though the first Season of Mork & Mindy is funnier than any season of Laverne & Shirley....
Id have to say I still like L&S more.
dlemond 04-05-2004, 03:21 PM Look- I'm a butterfly! NO a bee! No I am a brilliant dandelion dancing in the sun! Everyone, dance with me!!!
Robin Williams is truly a gifted person, but he gets on my nerves.

I'm in the process of watching the first season of Mork and Mindy on my local station.
LucyFan 04-05-2004, 09:26 PM I like both Laverne & Shirley and Mork and Mindy a lot. Out of those two, Laverne & Shirley is a bigger favorite of mine since it's more like I Love Lucy and The Lucy Show.
PZelda 04-06-2004, 01:22 AM LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY :notworthy

Sean Snow 04-06-2004, 02:04 AM Definitely Laverne & Shirley. I've never really liked Mork & Mindy.

I have to agree Sean. I been watching Mork and Mindy for a week now and Mork is just too ******** for me. I can't stomach the show anymore. Seem like that show was created for 3 year olds.
bookwormtvfan 04-07-2004, 12:38 AM I'm not sure if I have a preference between those two. It's been so long since I've seen L&S that I don't really remember what it's about, and I haven't seen M&M in years either, but vaguely remember what that's about.
robyrob 04-08-2004, 08:54 PM I love both shows, i couldn't really pick one over the other, and when they come out on dvd, i'll probably get 'em BOTH :greedy:

Mork was enetertaining on Happy Days but for some reason he was CRAZY on his own show
tvfan0101 04-08-2004, 09:56 PM Mork and Mindy. For whatever reason, the actresses on Laverne and Shirley just rubbed me the wrong way.

Why was that?

As "For whatever reason" implies, I don't know. They just do.

Well I'm curious to know what did you like about Mork and Mindy?
Rhiannon 04-09-2004, 04:02 PM I like Laverne and Shirley. I watched it today.

Robin Williams is brilliant, for one thing. For another, it isn't Laverne and Shirley.

You don't think Robin Williams went OVERBOARD sometimes?

I saw the ep the other day when he was acting 3 yrs old and Mindy was his mother. I had to change the channel.
Penny Lane 04-09-2004, 08:39 PM Mork And Mindy was ok but this is one of the many reasons why I gave up on Happy Days! They drifted so far from their original premise! I hated that show after they went before a live audience! It ruined the show! A little bit ridiculous it became(ie; Mork)

Oh yes, of course he went overboard. That's what I loved about him. Check out the Mork and Mindy outtakes (http://www.tvobscurities.com/pages/outtakes.htm) I've got at my site. The whole cast was overboard, even when the camera wasn't rolling, and that's what I like about the show. Sure, it went downhill at the end, but I enjoyed it.

Laverne & Shirley, they always make me laugh.
catlover79 06-01-2007, 06:33 PM I'll go with L&S. Both actresses got a chance to shine equally, while Pam Dawber was completely in Robin Williams' shadow. I don't feel she ever got an episode where she could really shine by herself.
Of course, both shows made BAD choices - moving L&S to California and adding Mearth to M&M.

Was she ever supoosed to shine?-lol I thought her role was to always be in that supporting role
catlover79 06-01-2007, 07:03 PM ^ I always thought Mindy should be able to do more. She was always just...there.
comedyfreak 06-02-2007, 05:12 AM Laverne & Shirley was my favorite of the two, although I did like Mork & Mindy too.
friendsfan77 06-02-2007, 11:57 AM I enjoyed Laverne & Shirley more but that is not to say that Mork & Mindy did not have its moments of fun for me.
Ohio8 06-02-2007, 06:08 PM Laverne & Shirley. The spinoff I absolutey hated was Joanie Loves Chachi.

Give me Joanie Loves Chachi over Mork and Mindy any day of the week-lol

I must be the only one on the planet that liked Mearth. lol I thought the show rebounded that last season from a poor 3rd season.
